How to remove the AnalyzeService adware from your operating system
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on
What kind of application is AnalyzeService?
AnalyzeService is an application that we discovered while checking out new submissions to the VirusTotal website. After analyzing this app, we determined that it is adware. AnalyzeService belongs to the AdLoad malware family.
AnalyzeService adware overview
Adware stands for advertising-supported software. It usually operates by enabling the placement of third-party graphical content (e.g., pop-ups, banners, overlays, coupons, etc.) on visited websites and/or different interfaces.
These advertisements commonly promote online scams, unreliable/harmful software, and even malware. Once clicked on, some intrusive ads can execute scripts to perform sneaky downloads/installations.
It must be mentioned that while legitimate products or services may be encountered via these adverts – they are unlikely to be endorsed in this manner by their actual developers. It is most probable that this endorsement is undertaken by scammers who abuse the content's affiliate programs to obtain illegitimate commissions.
Adware may require specific conditions to run intrusive advertisement campaigns (e.g., compatible browser/system or user geolocation, visits to particular sites, etc.). However, even if AnalyzeService does not deliver adverts – It remains a threat to device and user safety.
AdLoad applications often have browser-hijacking abilities, although we did not observe these functionalities while analyzing AnalyzeService.
This adware-type app likely collects sensitive user data. Information of interest may include: visited URLs, viewed webpages, searched queries, Internet cookies, usernames/passwords, personally identifiable details, finance-related data, and so forth. The gathered information can then be shared with and/or sold to third-parties.
In summary, the presence of advertising-supported software like AnalyzeService on devices may result in system infections, severe privacy issues, financial losses, and even identity theft.

Adware examples
We have examined numerous adware samples; SustainableLot, StandartServer, and VividMode are just a couple of our latest finds.
Software within this category typically appears legitimate and innocuous. Users may be enticed into downloading/installing adware by promises of various functionalities. However, these features seldom work as promised, and in most cases – they are completely nonoperational.
Note that even if a piece of software works exactly as indicated by its promotional material – that is not irrefutable proof of either legitimacy or safety.
How did AnalyzeService install on my computer?
Adware is promoted on legitimate-looking download pages and scam websites. Most visitors enter these webpages via redirects caused by sites employing rogue advertising networks, intrusive ads, spam browser notifications, mistyped URLs, or installed adware (with browser force-opening capabilities).
"Bundling" – the marketing technique that involves parking regular program installers with unwanted/malicious additions – is also used to proliferate adware.
Download from untrustworthy channels (e.g., freeware and third-party websites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks, etc.) and rushed installations (e.g., skipped steps, used "Easy/Express" settings, etc.) – increase the risk of unintentionally allowing bundled content into the device.
Some intrusive adverts are capable of executing scripts to perform stealthy downloads/installations upon being clicked. These advertisements are used to spread advertising-supported software as well.
How to avoid installation of adware?
We recommend researching software and downloading it only from official/verified sources. When installing, it is crucial to read terms, inspect available options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings, and opt out of all supplementary apps, extensions, features, and so forth.
Fraudulent and dangerous online content usually appears genuine and harmless – therefore, we advise exercising caution while browsing. For example, intrusive ads may look innocuous – yet redirect to unreliable/questionable websites (e.g., scam-promoting, pornography, gambling, adult dating, etc.).
If you keep encountering adverts and/or redirects of this kind, inspect the device and immediately remove all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with AnalyzeService, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
