How to remove software force-opening the profitsurvey365.org site?

Also Known As: profitsurvey365.org pop-up
Damage level: Medium

What is profitsurvey365[.]org?

Profitsurvey365[.]org is a rogue website, which shares common traits with tisinihave.biz, yourfirmif.biz, centralheat.net, and countless others. This site is designed to load questionable content and/or redirect visitors to untrustworthy/malicious webpages.

Users seldom access such websites intentionally; most get redirected to them by intrusive adverts or installed PUAs (Potentially Unwanted Applications). This software can infiltrate systems without user permission and cause redirects, deliver intrusive advertisement campaigns, and collect browsing-related information.

profitsurvey365[.]org pop-up redirects

The behavior of profitsurvey365[.]org is determined by its visitors' geolocations. The page learns this data by checking users' IP (Internet Protocol) addresses.

Therefore, whether visitors are presented with dubious material and/or redirected elsewhere - depends on their IP addresses/ geolocations. Furthermore, most rogue sites use browser notifications and tend to employ deceptive tactics (e.g., clickbait, fake CAPTCHA verification, etc.) to trick users into allowing them.

This applies to profitsurvey365[.]org as well. Should its notifications be enabled, the site will begin running intrusive advert campaigns.

The delivered ads are more than just a minor nuisance, they also pose a threat to device/user safety. Intrusive advertisements promote various unreliable, misleading, deceptive/scam, compromised, and malicious websites. Some of these adverts can even be triggered (by being clicked) to stealthily download/install software (e.g., PUAs).

Potentially unwanted applications can have varied heinous functionalities, which can be in different combinations. For example, these apps can force-open untrustworthy/dangerous webpages and/or run intrusive advertisement campaigns.

What is more, PUAs usually have data tracking abilities. Targeted information includes: visited URLs, viewed pages, searched queries, IP addresses/ geolocations, personally identifiable details, and so forth.

PUA developers monetize the collected data by sharing it with and/or selling it to third-parties (potentially, cyber criminals). In summary, the presence of unwanted software on devices can lead to system infections, severe privacy issues, financial losses, and identity theft.

To ensure device integrity and user privacy, it is crucial to remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately upon detection.

PUAs typically appear legitimate and harmless. They entice users into download/installation and/or purchase with offers of various "handy" features.

However, the functions rarely work as promised, and in most cases - they are utterly nonoperational. The sole aim of PUAs is to generate revenue for the developers; hence, functionality and user safety are irrelevant.

PUAs operate by causing redirects, delivering intrusive ad campaigns, and gathering private and vulnerable data.

How did adware install on my computer?

PUAs are distributed via downloaders/installers of other programs. This deceptive marketing method of packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions - is termed "bundling".

Rushed download/installation processes (e.g., ignored terms, skipped steps, used pre-set options, etc.) increase the risk of unintentionally allowing bundled content into the system.

Intrusive adverts are also used to proliferate PUAs. Upon being clicked, the ads can execute scripts to make downloads/installations without user consent. Some PUAs have "official" download sites as well.

How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?

It is advised to always research software prior to download/installation and/or purchase. Additionally, all downloads must be performed from official and verified sources.

Untrustworthy download channels, e.g., unofficial and free file-hosting (freeware) websites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks (Torrent clients, eMule, Gnutella, etc.), and other third-party downloaders - commonly offer harmful and bundled content.

When downloading/installing, it is recommended to read terms, study available options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings, and opt-out from supplementary apps, tools, functions, and other additions. Intrusive ads appear ordinary and innocuous; however, they redirect to various unreliable and questionable sites (e.g., gambling, adult-dating, pornography, etc.).

In case of encounters with advertisements and/or redirects of this kind, the system must be inspected and all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins detected - removed from it without delay. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?

Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.

Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
