How to stop redirects to and from newmode.biz
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is the newmode[.]biz site?
newmode[.]biz is a rogue website designed to present visitors with dubious material and/or redirect them to other untrusted or malicious web pages. Users rarely access newmode[.]biz intentionally - most are redirected to it by intrusive ads or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs) already infiltrated into the system.
There are thousands of sites on the web similar to newmode[.]biz such as keysdigita.com, zmusic-online.com, and routemob.com
newmode[.]biz first checks visitors' IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to learn their geolocations. This information is crucial in determining the web page's further course of action. I.e., whether users are redirected elsewhere or are presented with dubious content depends on their geolocations.
Additionally, this site uses deceptive tactics to trick visitors into allowing browser notifications ("Press 'Allow' to verify, that you are not [a] robot"). If permission is granted, newmode[.]biz starts delivering intrusive advertisement campaigns.
When clicked, these ads redirect to dubious/malicious websites, and some can even execute scripts to download/install rogue software without users' permission. This is just one method used to distribute PUAs. These unwanted apps have other functionalities, as well as force-opening harmful web pages.
Adware-type apps can run intrusive ad campaigns and enable the placement of intrusive advertisements on any visited site. Browser hijackers modify browsers to promote fake search engines, which redirect to other legitimate sites (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.) or provide inaccurate and dangerous search results.
Furthermore, most PUAs have data tracking capabilities. They can monitor browsing activity (URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and gather personal information extracted from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). The collected information is typically monetized by sharing with and/or selling to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals).
Therefore, the presence of PUAs on devices can lead to system infections and cause financial loss, serious privacy issues and even identity theft. To protect device and user safety, remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins without delay.

PUAs may seem legitimate and harmless, and users are often enticed into downloading/installing these apps with offers of "useful" functionalities, however, these features are rarely operational. The only purpose of PUAs is to generate profit for the developers.
Rather than delivering any real value, they cause redirects, run intrusive ad campaigns, modify browsers and collect private information.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs proliferate via the download/installation set-ups of other programs. This deceptive marketing technique of pre-packing normal software with unwanted or malicious additions is termed "bundling".
By rushing through download/installation processes (e.g. skipping steps and sections, using pre-set options, etc.), many users increase the risk of unintentionally allowing bundled content into their systems. Some PUAs have "official" promotional web pages from which they can be downloaded.
Intrusive advertisements can infiltrate these apps into systems as well. When clicked, they can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without users' consent.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are strongly advised to research all software before download/installation or purchase. Download from official sources only. Unofficial and free file-hosting (freeware) websites, P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, eMule, Gnutella, etc.) and other third party downloaders are untrusted, since they can offer deceptive and bundled content.
Treat download and installation processes with caution. Read the terms, study all possible options, use the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings and opt-out of additional apps, tools, functions, and so on. It is also important to exercise caution when browsing.
Intrusive ads may seem legitimate, however, they can redirect to dubious sites (e.g. pornography, adult-dating, gambling, etc.).
If you encounter these ads/redirects, check the system and remove all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
