There are many browser hijackers online. Other examples are NanoSearch, VidSearch and Nuzzero. Most promote fake search engines and track information. They are advertised as useful apps, which supposedly include various features, improve the browsing experience, etc. In fact, they do not operate as advertised - they are useless and can cause serious problems.

How did SportstreamSearch install on my computer?

In most cases, PUAs are downloaded and installed through the download/installation set-ups of other programs. I.e., when they are included into the set-ups as 'additional offers'. This distribution method is called "bundling". Developers use it to trick people into downloading and installing PUAs with regular programs.

Offers to download and install PUAs can be declined in "Custom", "Advanced" or other settings of set-ups, however, many users fail to check and change them when they download and install their programs. • In the opened window, locate all suspicious URLs, click the drop-down menu and select "Block"

Internet Explorer:

• Click the Gear button on the right upper corner of the IE window
• Select "Internet options"
• Select the "Privacy" tab and click "Settings" under "Pop-up Blocker" section

Microsoft Edge:

Change your homepage and new tab settings:

Click the Edge menu icon  (at the top right corner of Microsoft Edge), select "Settings". In the "On startup" section look for the name of the browser hijacker and click "Disable".

Change your default Internet search engine:

To change your default search engine in Microsoft Edge: Click the Edge menu icon  (at the top right corner of Microsoft Edge), select "Privacy and services", scroll to bottom of the page and select "Address bar".
