How to uninstall Nismo AP and SApp+
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is bmps.xyz?
bmps.xyz is the web address of a fake search engine, which promoted by applications named Nismo AP and SApp+. These two applications are classified as browser hijackers. Like most browser hijackers, Nismo AP and SApp+ promote bmps.xyz by changing browsers settings.
Commonly, apps of this type also collect user-system information. People often download and install browser hijackers inadvertently and, therefore, they are also known as potentially unwanted applications (PUAs).
Typically, browser hijackers promote fake search engines by changing settings such as the address of the default search engine and homepage. After installation, Nismo AP and SApp+ assigns them to bmps.xyz. Therefore, their users are forced to visit this address when they open a browser, new tab or enter search queries into the URL bar.
Note that on Chrome, bmps.xyz is opened via bytsm.xyz, and on Firefox, via searchmes.xyz. Fake search engines often provide results generated by other search engines or generate misleading information. In any case, you should never use them.
Most browser hijackers do not allow users to remove the address of the fake search engine from browser settings as long as they are installed. Therefore, bmps.xyz (and other dubious addresses) can be avoided only by uninstalling Nismo AP and/or SApp+ applications.
These apps often collect browsing data. Browser hijackers target details such as IP addresses, entered search queries, geolocations, addresses of visited websites, and other data of this kind. Some browser hijackers may be capable of accessing private, sensitive data.
The collected data is sold to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue in other ways. Browser hijackers such as Nismo AP and SApp+ can cause problems relating to privacy, browsing safety or even identity theft. Therefore, never download or install these PUAs.

Most do not deliver any useful features or other value, and simply help the developers to generate revenue. People with browsers hijackers installed on their systems might experience serious problems.
Therefore, any installed browser hijackers should be removed immediately. Some examples of other PUAs classified as browser hijackers are Shipment Trackers, Templates Here Tab and Shield My Searches.
How did bmps.xyz install on my computer?
In most cases, users download and install browser hijackers and other PUAs by clicking deceptive ads, or by downloading and installing programs with PUAs included as 'additional offers' in the set-ups. Infiltration by deceptive ads happen when they execute scripts designed to download and install unwanted apps.
PUAs are often downloaded and installed when people download and install other programs without checking and changing the settings (such as "Custom", "Advanced") that are included in the set-ups - this allows PUAs to be downloaded and installed together with the required software. This distribution method is called "bundling".
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are advised to download all software and files from official websites and via direct download links. Other channels such as third party downloaders (and installers), unofficial web pages, Peer-to-Peer networks (such as eMule, torrent clients and so on) should not be used, since they often distribute unwanted software.
Check all "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings and decline offers to download or install unwanted applications. Dubious web pages often contain intrusive, deceptive ads. It is not safe to click these, since they can lead to potentially malicious websites or cause unwanted downloads and installations.
Remove any unwanted, suspicious extensions, plug-ins and add-ons that are installed on the browser, and programs of this kind installed on the operating system. If your computer is already infected with browser hijackers, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate it.
