How to uninstall ProcessFresh adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is ProcessFresh?
ProcessFresh is categorized as a potentially unwanted application (PUA) and adware. Software of this type displays advertisements. PUAs also gather information (usually browsing data). In most cases, people download and install adware (and other PUAs) inadvertently.
Users of software such as ProcessFresh are regularly served with advertisements. Typically, adware displays ads in the form of coupons, pop-ups, surveys, banners, etc. Generally, these conceal underlying content of visited websites and lead people who click them to other untrusted sites.
In some cases, the ads execute scripts to download and installation of unwanted, potentially malicious software. Furthermore, adware-type apps often collect details relating to users' browsing habits.
They target information such as addresses of visited pages, entered search queries, geolocations, IP addresses, and other browsing data, however, installed adware might also collect sensitive, personal information. Furthermore, adware developers tend to sell the data to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue in other ways.
Installed adware can cause problems relating to browsing safety, privacy, lead to unwanted downloads and installations and so on. It is possible that some users might also become victims of identity theft. Therefore, never download or install adware or other PUAs.
If ProcessFresh or other PUAs are already installed on the browser and/or operating system, remove them immediately.

ProcessFresh is virtually identical to other apps of this type including, for example, PanelStart, SystemSpot and CentralRush. Typically, these apps do not deliver any value or features and are designed only to help the developers to generate revenue by displaying advertisements and collecting information. Therefore, no adware should be downloaded or installed.
How did ProcessFresh install on my computer?
In most cases, people download and install adware and other PUAs unintentionally by clicking deceptive advertisements or when developers trick them using a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". This method is often used to trick people into downloading/installing PUAs with other software that they wish to download/install intentionally.
Developers include PUAs into the download/installation set-ups of other programs and hide related information in settings such as "Custom" and "Advanced". People often allow potentially unwanted apps to be downloaded and installed through the set-ups when they leave these settings unchecked and unchanged.
Downloads and installations through deceptive ads happen when these ads execute certain scripts.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Do not download/install software or files through third party downloaders, installers, untrusted websites, Peer-to-Peer networks (e.g., torrent clients, eMule) or other such tools/channels. All files and programs should be downloaded from official websites and via direct links.
Do not finish downloads or installations without checking "Custom", "Advanced" and other settings available in the setup - dismiss any offers to download or install unwanted software. Do not click intrusive ads that are displayed on dubious websites (for example, on those relating to gambling, pornography, adult dating, etc.).
These ads can open potentially malicious websites or cause unwanted downloads and installations. Remove any unwanted extensions, plug-ins and add-ons that are already installed on the browser immediately.
The same should be applied to programs of this kind that are installed on the operating system. If your computer is already infected with ProcessFresh, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
