How to uninstall ThreadProperty adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is ThreadProperty?
ThreadProperty supposedly improves the browsing experience, however, it displays intrusive advertisements and gathers various information. Programs of this type are categorized as potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) and adware. Generally, people download and install adware inadvertently.
Applications such as ThreadProperty usually serve advertisements in the form of banners, coupons, pop-ups, surveys, and so on. Typically, displayed ads conceal underlying content of visited websites and lead users who click them to various untrusted websites.
The ads can sometimes execute scripts to download or install unwanted, potentially malicious software. Many adware-type applications gather browsing data. For example, geolocations, addresses of visited pages, entered search queries, IP addresses and other browsing-related information.
Research shows that this particular app can access sensitive information such as passwords saved on the browser, telephone numbers, credit card details, etc. ThreadProperty's developers are likely to sell collected details to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) or misuse them in other ways.
In any case, ThreadProperty's users are at risk of experiencing problems such as identity theft, monetary loss, problems relating to browsing safety, privacy, and so on. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you uninstall this and other PUAs from your browser and operating system immediately.

CentralRush, SystemNotes and BenefitSites are the names of other adware-type applications. There are many apps of this type on the internet. In most cases, they are advertised as useful apps, which supposedly improve the browsing experience and deliver various features.
If fact, most are useless (do not operate as promised) and are designed only to help the developers to generate revenue. PUAs simply cause problems and should never be trusted, downloaded, or installed.
How did ThreadProperty install on my computer?
PUAs are usually installed through clicked deceptive ads that execute certain scripts or together with other (mostly free) programs that have PUAs included in their download/installation set-ups as 'additional offers'. When developers distribute PUAs in this way, they are using a marketing method known as "bundling".
Typically, offers to download or install additionally-included software (PUAs) can be found in "Custom", "Advanced, and other settings of the download/installation set-ups, however, many people fail to check and change these settings, thereby agreeing by default with offers to download and install unwanted programs together with regular software.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Do not download or install programs through third party downloaders, installers, via Peer-to-Peer networks (torrent clients, eMule), from unofficial pages, or other similar sources/tools - they are often used to distribute potentially unwanted or even malicious software.
Programs and files should be downloaded only from official pages and via direct links. Unwanted downloads and installations can be prevented by checking "Custom", "Advanced" and other settings of the set-ups. The settings often contain offers to download or install additionally-included programs - decline these before completing any downloads or installations.
Intrusive advertisements that are displayed on dubious websites can open untrusted web pages or download/install PUAs by executing certain scripts. Therefore, never click these ads. They commonly appear on pages relating to gambling, adult dating, pornography, and other dubious sites.
Remove all PUAs (extensions, add-ons or plug-ins) installed on the browser immediately. Also remove unwanted/suspicious programs that are installed on the operating system. If your computer is already infected with ThreadProperty, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
