How to uninstall Easy Email Login and Encrypted Search
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Easy Email Login?
Easy Email Login is a potentially unwanted application (PUA), a browser hijacker designed to provide quick access to email and social networking platforms, and various shopping and weather forecast websites. In fact, it promotes search.easyemaillogintab.net (a fake search engine) by changing browser settings, and also gathers browsing data.
People usually download and install browser hijackers (and other PUAs) unintentionally. Furthermore, Easy Email Login is installed together with another PUA called Encrypted Search.
Easy Email Login assigns settings such as the address of the default search engine, homepage, and new tab to search.easyemaillogintab.net. Therefore, users are forced to visit and use this fake search engine when they open a browser, new tab or enter search queries into the URL bar.
Note that search.easyemaillogintab.net is a fake search engine, since it does not generate unique results and simply redirects to search.yahoo.com. Therefore, search.easyemaillogintab.net provides results generated by Yahoo, a legitimate search engine.
Search engines such as search.easyemaillogintab.net are useless, however, browser hijackers do not allow users to remove their addresses from the aforementioned settings as long as they are installed. Therefore, the only way to avoid being redirected to search.easyemaillogintab.net is to uninstall Easy Email Login.
Otherwise, it will reappoint this address after each attempt to remove it from these settings (or change it to another address). Furthermore, browser hijackers often record details such as IP addresses, entered search queries, addresses of visited pages, geolocations, and so on.
They can also gather personal, confidential information. Developers sell the data to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue in other ways.
In summary, people who have apps such as Easy Email Login, Encrypted Search (and other PUAs) installed on their browsers and/or operating systems risk problems relating to browsing safety, privacy or they might even become victims of identity theft. Therefore, never download or install apps of this type. Remove all PUAs immediately.

For these reasons, remove Easy Email Login, Encrypted Search and other apps of this type from the browser and operating system immediately.
How did Easy Email Login install on my computer?
In most cases people are tricked into downloading and installing browser hijackers and other PUAs when they are included as additional offers in the download/installation set-ups. This PUA distribution method is called "bundling" and is used trick people into downloading and installing PUAs with other, regular programs.
Generally, offers to download and install PUAs can be found in settings such as "Advanced", "Custom", and other parts of the set-ups, however, people often download and install programs without checking or changing these settings. In doing so, they allow PUAs to be downloaded and installed through the setups of other programs.
When clicked, some deceptive ads also cause download/installation of PUAs (they execute certain scripts).
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Do not download files or programs from unofficial, dubious web pages, through Peer-to-Peer networks such as torrent clients, eMule, third party downloaders or other such tools. Avoid third party installers. All software should be downloaded from official websites and via direct download links.
Do not download or install anything without first checking settings such as "Custom" and "Advanced", and dismissing offers to download/install additional software.
Do not click advertisements that are displayed on dubious web pages (e.g., relating to gambling, adult dating, pornography, and other similar sites) - they can cause redirects to untrusted websites or unwanted downloads and installations.
If the browser opens dubious pages or displays advertisements regularly, check for any installed unwanted, suspicious apps (extensions, plug-ins or add-ons) and remove them immediately. The same should be applied to programs of this kind installed on the operating system.
