Stop browsers from causing redirects to easymedia2.com and similar websites

What is easymedia2[.]com?
easymedia2[.]com is a rogue website designed to load dubious content or open a number of other rogue web pages. Other examples of websites of this type include newsbreak[.]com, daystream[.]club and gubudakis[.]com. Typically, people do not visit these sites intentionally - they are opened by browsers with potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) installed on them.
Most PUAs collect information relating to users' browsing habits and serve intrusive advertisements.
Typically, installed PUAs open websites such as easymedia2[.]com in new windows or tabs. When visited, they display dubious content or open more (about two or three) untrusted websites. These actions depend on visitors' geolocations. The opened websites often promote bogus software, contain deceptive ads, and so on.
Neither easymedia2[.]com nor pages opened through it can be trusted. Note that easymedia2[.]co attempts to trick visitors into allowing it to show notifications using a 'clickbait' technique. It suggests that by clicking the "Allow" (or "Allow Notifications") button in a pop-up window, visitors will prove that they are not robots and will then be able to continue browsing.
In fact, clicking the button simply allows easymedia2[.]com to show notifications. Typically, websites such as easymedia2[.]com show notifications that contain dubious advertisements, links that open rogue websites, and so on. As mentioned, most PUAs collect browsing-related information and/or display various ads.
Typically, they collect details such as entered search queries, addresses of visited pages, geolocations, IP addresses, and so on, however, some PUAs record personal, sensitive information as well. Developers generate revenue by selling the data to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals), however, they can also misuse it in other ways.
This situation can lead to problems relating to privacy, browsing safety, etc. Some users might even become victims of identity theft. PUAs often feed users with intrusive ads (coupons, banners, surveys, pop-ups) that open dubious web pages or execute scripts that cause download/installation of unwanted apps. Therefore, never download or install any PUAs.

PUAs are generally advertised as useful and supposedly deliver various features, improve the browsing experience, and so on. In fact, most do not operate as promised and are designed only to help the developers to generate revenue by forcing users to visit rogue web pages, gathering browsing data and other details, and serving intrusive advertisements.
To avoid problems that might occur due to PUAs installed on browsers and/or operating systems, we recommend that you uninstall them immediately.
How did adware install on my computer?
Typically, potentially unwanted apps are distributed by including them into the download and/or installation set-ups of other (usually free) software. This distribution method is called "bundling". Developers include PUAs as additional offers and hide them in "Custom", "Advanced" or other settings.
When people download and install software without checking these settings, they often agree by default with offers to download/install additionally-included apps. Unwanted downloads and installations can also be caused by clicking deceptive ads that execute certain scripts.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Programs and files should not be downloaded through unofficial pages, third party downloaders, Peer-to-Peer networks (e.g., torrent clients, eMule), or other sources/channels of this kind. Download only from official web pages and via direct download links. Check all download/installation set-ups for settings such as "Custom", "Advanced", and so on.
Dismiss any offers to download or install additional software (PUAs) before finishing the process. Do not click intrusive ads that appear on dubious websites - these can open untrusted websites or cause download/installation of unwanted, potentially malicious apps.
If there are any suspicious, unwanted extensions, add-ons or plug-ins installed on the browser, removed them. The same should be applied to programs of this kind that are installed on the operating system. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
