How to uninstall ReachChoice adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is ReachChoice?
ReachChoice supposedly improves the browsing experience, however, this app is categorized as adware. Therefore, users are served with various intrusive advertisements.
Apps such as ReachChoice are also categorized as potentially unwanted applications (PUAs), since people tend to download and install them inadvertently. Additionally, adware is often designed to gather information relating to users' browsing habits.
When installed, adware-type applications serve intrusive ads, usually in the form of coupons, banners, pop-ups, surveys, and so on. These commonly redirect people who click them to various untrustworthy, potentially malicious websites. In some cases, they execute scripts that download or install potentially unwanted and/or malicious software.
Furthermore, software such as ReachChoice is often designed to collect browsing data such as IP addresses, URLs of visited web pages, entered search queries, geolocations, and browsing-related information. Some adware additionally records sensitive, personal details.
People responsible for adware (and other PUAs that operate as information tracking tools) sell the data to third parties who misuse it to generate revenue.
Data gathered by these PUAs might fall into the hands of cyber criminals. By misusing recorded data, developers and third parties put users of adware at risk of problems relating to browsing safety, online privacy, and some of the details might be misused to steal users' identities. Therefore, remove all adware from browsers and operating systems immediately.

ReachChoice is virtually identical to other software of this type including, for example, GlobalAdviseSearch, FocusProvide and EngineFiles. These apps deliver no real value and are designed only to display advertisements. They are used simply to help the developers to generate revenue by gathering browsing data and other information. Never download or install adware.
How did ReachChoice install on my computer?
People often download/install unwanted apps (adware, browser hijackers and other PUAs) when they are included into the download/installation set-ups as 'additional offers'. This distribution method of potentially unwanted software is called "bundling".
Generally, offers to download and/or install PUAs are mentioned in "Advanced", "Custom" and other similar settings/options of set-ups of regular software. Many people fail to check or change these settings when they download/install programs and leave them unchanged.
In this way, they inadvertently agree to download/installation of various PUAs by default. In some cases, PUAs are inadvertently downloaded/installed by clicking deceptive ads that execute certain scripts.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Do not download files or software from unofficial pages, via Peer-to-Peer networks (torrent clients, eMule), third party downloaders or other similar sources. Avoid third party installers. All software should be downloaded from official pages and through direct download links.
Do not to finish any download or installation process without checking settings such as "Custom", "Advanced", etc. Decline any offers to download or install additional, unwanted software. Do not click advertisements that are displayed on dubious web pages (e.g., those relating to gambling, adult dating, or pornography).
These can cause redirects to other untrustworthy websites and unwanted downloads/installations. If a browser opens dubious pages or displays ads automatically, check for any suspicious, unwanted apps (extensions, plug-ins or add-ons) remove these entries immediately.
Also remove programs of this kind that are installed on the operating system. If your computer is already infected with ReachChoice, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
