Stop browsers from opening expectivepo.info

What is expectivepo[.]info?
expectivepo[.]info is one of many rogue websites that people often visit unintentionally. More examples of websites of this type include free-girls-vids[.]com, horny-vid[.]com and rex-news1[.]club. Typically, browsers open these sites due to potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) installed on them.
PUAs are designed to collect browsing data (and other details) and serve various advertisements.
When opened/visited, expectivepo[.]info loads dubious content (and asks to show notifications) or opens other untrustworthy websites. Typically, web pages such as expectivepo[.]info redirect visitors to about two or three other dubious web pages that usually contain deceptive ads, promote dubious software, and so on.
Note that expectivepo[.]info is one of many sites used to trick people into allowing notifications through a deceptive 'clickbait' technique. It states that a file can be downloaded by clicking the "Allow" button. Whether or not the file is downloaded after clicking the button, expectivepo[.]info receives permission to show notifications (dubious ads, and other unwanted content).
Most potentially unwanted apps gather information such as IP addresses, geolocations, addresses of visited (opened) pages, entered search queries, and so on. Some might be designed to collect personal, confidential details as well. Typically, people behind these apps sell the data to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue.
Many PUAs feed users with unwanted advertisements such as coupons, banners, surveys, and so on. These usually lead to untrustworthy, potentially malicious web pages, or even worse, cause download/installation of other unwanted programs. This only happens when people click the ads.
To avoid having privacy issues, problems with browsing safety, unwanted downloads, installations or even becoming victims of identity theft, we recommend that you uninstall all unwanted apps of this kind immediately.

Generally, most PUAs have similar behavior: they force browsers to open untrustworthy web pages, display ads and gather data. They are often advertised as legitimate, useful applications that supposedly deliver various features. In fact, most are useless, cause problems and are designed only to help the developers to generate revenue.
How did adware install on my computer?
Most PUAs are installed on browsers and/or systems without users' knowledge. I.e., people usually download and/or install them unintentionally. This happens when they click deceptive ads or when they are distributed using the "bundling" method (when developers include PUAs in download and/or installation set-ups of various software).
Frequently, information about additionally-included software is provided in "Custom", "Advanced" or other similar settings of the set-ups. Many people fail to check and change these settings, thereby inadvertently allowing PUAs to be downloaded and/or installed through the set-ups of regular programs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Do not to use third party downloaders, installers, Peer-to-Peer networks (e.g., torrent clients, eMule), unofficial pages as tools to download or install software. All software should be downloaded only from official websites and via direct links. Study each download and installation setup and check "Advanced", "Custom" and other similar settings.
If a setup contains offer to download or install unwanted, additional software, decline them before completing the process. Do not trust or click intrusive ads, especially those displayed on dubious websites. When clicked, they can redirect to untrustworthy websites or cause unwanted downloads/installations.
If the browser shows ads or opens dubious web pages, this can be stopped by uninstalling all unwanted extensions, plug-ins and add-ons from. Also remove programs of this kind from the operating system. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
