What is giantttraffic[.]com?
giantttraffic[.]com is one of many rogue websites online. Similar sites include localmylife.info, ewaglongoo.com, videostream.best, and so on. These web pages present users with dubious content and/or redirect them to other untrustworthy, even malicious websites.
Most visitors to giantttraffic[.]com access it unintentionally, since they are redirected by intrusive ads or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs) already present on the device.
Note that these apps do not need express permission to be installed onto systems. After successful infiltration, however, they generate redirects, run intrusive advertisement campaigns, and track browsing-related data.
giantttraffic[.]com first checks visitors' IP addresses to learn their geolocations, which are crucial in determining its further course of action. According to this information, visitors are redirected elsewhere or presented with dubious content.
Additionally, this rogue web page uses browser notifications, the consent option to which is hidden beneath 'clickbait' ("Press 'Allow' to verify, that you are not [a] robot"). If consent to these notifications is granted, giantttraffic[.]com begins running intrusive ad campaigns.
The delivered ads (pop-ups, banners, coupons, surveys, etc.) are more than just a nuisance, they also carry certain risks. When clicked, they can redirect to sale-oriented, untrustworthy, deceptive/scam and malicious sites. Some can execute scripts, designed to stealthily download/install PUAs.
They can also generate redirects to likewise hazardous pages and run ad campaigns. They use various tools to enable third party graphical content to be displayed on any site. Therefore, intrusive ads limit browsing speed and web page visibility (by concealing underlying content).
Most PUAs are capable of tracking data. They employ these capabilities to monitor and gather information such as URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries typed, IP addresses, geolocations, and other details. This sensitive data can then be shared with third parties (often, cyber criminals) seeking to misuse it for financial gain.
In summary, PUAs can cause browser and system infiltration/infections, lead to serious privacy issues, financial loss and even identity theft. Therefore, to ensure device and user safety, remove all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately upon detection.

PUAs often seem legitimate and similar to regular applications. They entice users into downloading/installing them with offers of "useful" and "beneficial" features, however, they are usually nonoperational. The only purpose of all unwanted apps is to generate profit for the developers, whilst regular users receive no real value.
Rather than delivering any useful features, they cause redirects to untrustworthy/malicious web pages, run intrusive advertisement campaigns, and collect private data.
How did adware install on my computer?
Typically, PUAs are downloaded/installed with other products. This deceptive marketing method of pre-packing regular software with unwanted or malicious programs is called "bundling".
Rushing download and installation processes (e.g. ignoring terms, skipping steps, using pre-set options), increases the risk of unintentionally allowing bundled content onto devices, thereby endangering systems with potential infiltration and infections. Some PUAs also have "official" promotional pages, from which they can be downloaded.
Once clicked, intrusive ads can execute scripts to download/install unwanted applications without users' permission.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Research all content, before downloading/installing. Use only official and verified download channels. P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, Gnutella, eMule, etc.), free file-hosting sites and other third party downloaders are untrusted and should be avoided.
When downloading/installing, read the terms, explore all available options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings, and opt-out of supplementary apps, tools, functions and so on. Intrusive advertisements usually seem normal and harmless, however, they can redirect to dubious websites (e.g. pornography, adult-dating, gambling, etc.).
If you encounter ads/redirects of this kind, check the system and remove all suspicious applications and/or browser extensions/plug-ins without delay. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
