How to remove ManagementMark adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is ManagementMark?
ManagementMark is a potentially unwanted application (PUA) classified as adware, however, developers advertise it as a tool that provides services to browse the internet more efficiently. Adware is software that serves advertisements and is often designed to record browsing-related (and other) data. Typically, people download and install adware inadvertently.
If installed, adware regularly displays various coupons, banners, surveys, pop-up ads, and other intrusive content, including ads. These conceal underlying content of websites that users of adware visit. If clicked, the ads lead to untrustworthy, potentially malicious pages or run scripts that cause download/installation of unwanted apps.
Furthermore, apps such as ManagementMark gather information relating to users' browsing habits. For example, IP addresses, entered search queries, addresses of opened/visited websites, geolocations, and so on.
This particular app records sensitive data from websites that users visit, such as credit card details, telephone numbers, passwords, and other confidential information.
Adware developers often misuse recorded details to generate revenue. They also share them with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals). This can lead to financial loss, problems with browsing safety and privacy, identity theft, and so on. Therefore, remove ManagementMalso and other adware immediately.

In most cases, adware-type applications are advertised as legitimate, useful, etc., however, few provide any features or operate as advertised. PUAs are often the reason behind various problems and are designed only to serve ads and/or gather information.
Some examples of other software categorized as adware include DiscoveryEngine, LogicalSearch, and NeedWebSearch.
How did ManagementMark install on my computer?
Most people do not install unwanted apps/adware intentionally - they are usually tricked. To achieve this, developers use a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" - they distribute PUAs by including them into the set-ups of other software.
In most cases, offers to download and/or install additional apps can be found in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings the download or installation set-ups.
When people download or install software without checking any of the settings, they allow additional PUAs to be downloaded and installed with that software. Unwanted downloads and installations can also be caused through deceptive ads, If clicked, these execute scripts designed to download and/or install unwanted, potentially malicious apps.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Do not download or install software through untrustworthy, unofficial websites, third party downloaders, installers, Peer-to-Peer networks such as torrents, eMule or other similar channels. The best way to download is using official, trustworthy websites and direct links.
If a setup contains settings such as "Custom" or "Advanced", check them and dismiss offers to download or install additionally-included, unwanted apps. Avoid clicking intrusive ads, especially if displayed on dubious websites. Once clicked, these can redirect people to untrustworthy websites or download/install unwanted programs.
To stop browsers from opening dubious web pages and displaying intrusive ads, uninstall all suspicious, unwanted extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins installed on the browsers, and programs of this kind that are installed on operating systems.
If your computer is already infected with ManagementMark, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
