Remove ProcessSave from your browser and computer
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is ProcessSave?
ProcessSave is adware - software that deploys advertisements. In fact, developers advertise this app as supposedly capable of enhancing the web browsing experience.
Apps of this type are often designed to record user-system information. In any case, few people download or install these apps intentionally and, for this reason, they are categorized as potentially unwanted applications (PUAs).
People who have apps such as ProcessSave installed on their browsers and/or computers are forced to see various banners, surveys, pop-ups, coupons, and other advertisements. If clicked, these usually open untrustworthy, potentially malicious websites, however, sometimes they download or even install unwanted software.
In addition, adware-type apps often track information. Typically, they record browsing-related details such as IP addresses, URLs of visited pages, entered search queries, geolocations, and so on. ProcessSave also targets sensitive information and can record credit card details, telephone numbers, and passwords that users save on their browsers.
Adware developers often share the data with other parties (possibly, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue. In summary, ProcessSave can cause problems relating to browsing safety, privacy, or might even be used to steal users' identities. We strongly recommend that you remove ProcessSave and any other installed adware immediately.

Typically, these apps do not operate as advertised and are useless for everyday users. Most are designed simply to perform actions that help developers (and other third parties) to generate revenue. Furthermore, having adware installed can lead to numerous problems.
How did ProcessSave install on my computer?
Typically, people download and install PUAs such as ProcessSave or other unwanted apps through clicked deceptive advertisements or when these apps are included into the set-ups of software (usually freeware).
People are tricked into unwanted downloads or installations when developers hide information about the inclusion of PUAs in "Custom", "Advanced", and other similar sections of the download/installation set-ups. The marketing method to distribute unwanted apps in this way (by including them into set-ups) is called "bundling".
People who download and install programs without checking settings available in set-ups often allow PUAs to be downloaded and installed.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Download all programs and files from official web pages and using direct download links. Other sources or tools such as Peer-to-Peer networks (torrent clients eMule, and so on), unofficial websites, third party downloaders, installers, etc., should not be trusted or used.
Check "Custom" and "Advanced" settings/options and decline offers to download or install additional software. Avoid visiting untrustworthy websites and clicking ads displayed on them, since these usually redirect people to dubious, potentially malicious websites.
Unwanted redirects and intrusive ads are often caused by PUAs that are installed on browsers and/or computers. Therefore, ensure that there are no unwanted, unknown extensions, add-ons, or plug-ins installed on the browser, or programs of this kind installed on the operating system.
If your computer is already infected with ProcessSave, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.
