Terminate unwanted redirects to and from checkpost.club

What is checkpost[.]club?
Similar to weads32.com, robotcaptcha3.info, topernews.me, and many others, checkpost[.]club is a rogue site designed to feed users with dubious content and redirect them to other dubious websites.
Research shows that many visitors arrive at checkpost[.]club inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive ads encountered on other rogue sites. PUAs infiltrate computers without users' consent, cause redirects, deliver intrusive advertisements, and gather various sensitive data.
PUAs force-open new browser tabs/windows and redirect users to checkpost[.]club, which then checks visitors' Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to determine the geolocations. This is to ascertain whether users should be presented with dubious content or redirected elsewhere.
Note that checkpost[.]club also uses various techniques (e.g., social engineering) to trick users into clicking the delivered content (e.g., links) and enabling browser notifications. The site uses these notifications to promote other dubious websites by displaying pop-ups.
Thus, visitors to checkpost[.]club might end up encountering malicious content and redirects to/from this site could lead to system infections. PUAs also display intrusive advertisements (e.g., coupons, banners, pop-ups, and similar). These can also redirect to dubious sites or even execute scripts designed to download/install unwanted applications.
Thus, clicking them can lead to various system infections. In addition, PUAs deliver ads using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, they often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience.
Another significant downside is data tracking. PUAs record IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar information relating to browsing activity. This information usually includes personal details that developers share with third parties.
These people (potentially, cyber criminals) generate revenue by misusing private information. Thus, information tracking can lead to serious privacy issues, including identity theft. Therefore, remove all potentially unwanted applications immediately.

The internet is full of potentially unwanted applications that share many similarities. By offering many "useful features", they attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users to install.
In fact, few of these apps provide the functions promised. Most cause unwanted redirects, deliver ads, and gather data, thereby diminishing the browsing experience, and posing a threat to your privacy/computer safety.
How did adware install on my computer?
Although some potentially unwanted applications have official download websites, many infiltrate computers without users’ permission. Criminals promote them using intrusive advertisements and a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" (stealth installation of third party applications together with regular software).
Developers are aware that many users rush download/installation processes and skip steps. Therefore, they conceal "bundled" apps behind "Custom/Advanced" settings or other sections of the download/installation processes. Therefore, users who skip download/installation steps and click advertisements often install PUAs inadvertently.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent this situation, be very cautious when browsing the internet and downloading/installing software. Bear in mind that intrusive advertisements might seem genuine/legitimate, however, they often redirect to dubious sites (gambling, pornography, adult dating, etc.).
If you encounter these ads/redirects frequently, remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. Additionally, select "Custom/Advanced" settings and study each window of the download/installation dialogs. Decline offers to download/install additionally-included programs and opt-out of those already included.
You are advised to download programs from official sources only, preferably using direct download links. Third party downloaders/installers often include rogue apps, and thus these tools should not be used.
The key to computer safety is caution. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
