Eliminate redirects to and from the streamnotify.net website

What is streamnotify[.]net?
streamnotify[.]net is a rogue website that shares similarities with mvideo.pro, mediafresh.online, and many others. Once opened, streamnotify[.]net delivers certain dubious content and/or redirects users elsewhere.
Most visitors arrive at streamnotify[.]net inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive advertisements delivered by other rogue sites. PUAs often infiltrate computers without consent and, as well as causing redirects, deliver intrusive advertisements and record information relating to browsing activity.
Following infiltration, PUAs continually open new browser tabs/windows and redirect users to streamnotify[.]net, which then checks the user's internet Protocol (IP) address and determines the geolocation. This is to determine whether the user should be redirected further or presented with certain content (or both).
In any case, users might end up encountering malicious content (presented by streamnotify[.]net and other sites). Therefore, redirects to and from streamnotify[.]net can lead to various computer infections. PUAs are also designed to deliver intrusive advertisements (e.g., coupons, banners, pop-ups, etc.).
These are likely to redirect to dubious websites and might even execute scripts that download/install malware. Therefore, even a single accidental click can result in various computer infections. In addition, intrusive advertisements are often delivered via tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site.
Therefore, they often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. Potentially unwanted applications also track data. The list of collected data types typically includes (but is not limited to) IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, and other similar details.
This information is shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue. Therefore, the presence of a data-tracking application can lead to various system infections. We strongly recommend that you eliminate all PUAs immediately.

There are hundreds of PUAs online, all of which share many similarities. By offering "useful features", they attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users to install, however, they are designed only to generate revenue for the developers.
Rather than giving any real value for regular users, PUAs cause redirects, gather information, and deliver intrusive advertisements, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience and posing a threat to your privacy and computer safety.
How did adware install on my computer?
Some PUAs have official download websites, however, as mentioned above, these applications typically infiltrate computers without users' consent, since developers proliferate them using a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" and the aforementioned intrusive advertisements.
Developers are not honest enough to adequately disclose installation of third party applications. Therefore, "bundled" apps concealed behind sections (such as "Custom" or "Advanced" settings) of the download/installation processes.
Furthermore, many users often rush these procedures and skip steps. This behavior typically leads to inadvertent installation of third party programs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The main reasons for computer infections are poor knowledge of these threats and careless behavior. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, pay close attention when downloading and installing software and browsing the Internet. Select "Custom/advanced" settings and carefully analyze each window of the download/installation dialogs.
Opt-out of additionally-included programs and decline offers to download/install them. Avoid using third party downloaders/installers, since most are monetized using the "bundling" method (developers promote PUAs). Software should be downloaded from official sources only, preferably using direct download links.
Note that intrusive advertisements typically seem legitimate, as developers invest many resources into their design, however, most redirect to dubious websites such as gambling, pornography, adult dating, and similar. If you experience these ads/redirects, eliminate all dubious applications and browser plug-ins.
If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
