What is newsmagic[.]net?
Similar to armuchteetthat[.]info, suaningrebtersed[.]info, allneed[.]pro, and many others, newsmagic[.]net is a rogue website designed to deliver dubious content and redirect users to other dubious sites.
Users often visit sites such as newsmagic[.]net inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive advertisements displayed on other rogue sites. PUAs generally infiltrate computers without users' consent, cause redirects, deliver intrusive advertisements, and gather information relating to browsing activity.
After successful infiltration, PUAs start force-opening new browser tabs/windows and redirecting users to newsmagic[.]net, which then checks the user's internet Protocol (IP) address and determines the geolocation. This to ascertain whether the user is fed with certain content or redirected even further (newsmagic[.]net sometimes does both).
Therefore, users might encounter malicious content and redirects to and from newsmagic[.]net could lead to high-risk computer infections. Clicking ads delivered by potentially unwanted applications can also lead to the same issues.
PUAs deliver coupons, banners, pop-ups, and other intrusive advertisements, which often redirect to dubious websites and run scripts designed to download/install potentially unwanted/malicious apps. Therefore, even a single accidental click can result in a system infection.
Intrusive ads are typically delivered using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, they often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. Potentially unwanted applications are also known for information tracking.
These programs usually record IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other data relating to browsing activity. Once recorded, this information is shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who generate revenue by misusing private data.
Therefore, the presence of an information-tracking app might lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. All PUAs should be removed immediately.

The internet is full of potentially unwanted applications, all of which share many similarities. Most offer "useful features" in attempts to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users to install, however, PUAs have just one purpose: to generate revenue for the developers.
Rather than giving any real value for regular users, these applications cause unwanted redirects, gather information, and deliver intrusive advertisements, thereby diminishing the browsing experience and posing a significant threat to your privacy/computer safety.
How did adware install on my computer?
Some potentially unwanted applications have official download/promotion websites, however, most are distributed using intrusive advertising and "bundling" methods. "Bundling" is essentially stealth installation of third party applications together with regular software.
Developers hide "bundled" apps behind "Custom/Advanced" settings (or other sections) of the download/installation processes. Furthermore, many users often rush these procedures, skip steps, and click various advertisements without understanding the possible consequences.
This behavior often leads to inadvertent installation of potentially unwanted applications. In this way, users expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The main reasons for computer infections are poor knowledge of these threats and careless behavior. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, pay attention when browsing the internet, and downloading/installing software. Carefully analyze each step of the download/installation processes using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings.
Opt-out of all additionally-included programs and decline offers to download/install them. You are advised to download software from official sources only, using direct download links. Third party downloaders/installers are monetized using the "bundling" method, and thus such tools should never be used.
Additionally, bear in mind that intrusive advertisements usually seem legitimate. Once clicked, however, they redirect to dubious websites (pornography, adult dating, gambling, survey, fake error, etc.). If you see these ads frequently, check the list of installed applications/browser plug-ins and remove all suspicious entries.
If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
