Go.oclaserver.com POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is go.oclaserver.com?
go.oclaserver.com is a rogue website that is very similar (or even identical) to many other websites of this type, such as cobalten.com, filezog.com, amousinded.info, etc. This website redirects visitors to untrustworthy, deceptive websites.
Generally, people do not visit go.oclaserver.com willingly - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) that are often installed without direct user permission. They also deliver ads and collect browsing-related data.
Once installed, these PUAs force browsers to open new windows/tabs and redirect users to the go.oclaserver.com rogue website, which then opens even more untrustworthy sites (usually two or three). Some redirects caused by go.oclaserver.com might result in visits to malicious websites that could infect computers with high-risk viruses.
Furthermore, unwanted apps of this type deliver coupons, banners, surveys, and other ads that, once clicked, often redirect people to untrustworthy websites. Some might execute scripts that download and install unwanted apps or even viruses.
They are annoying and are usually displayed via tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site and conceal underlying content. Another downside of having PUAs installed is information tracking. These apps often collect IP addresses, keystrokes, search queries, URLs of visited websites, and other browsing-related data.
They also collect personal or sensitive information that PUAs developers share with third parties who misuse it to generate revenue. These third parties are often cyber criminals. We recommend that you remove all PUAs immediately.

The list of potentially unwanted apps is long, and most are very similar or even identical. Developers attempt to give the impression of legitimacy by promoting them as useful tools/features, however, they deliver none of the functionality promised or any real value for regular users.
They are designed only to generate revenue by causing unwanted redirects, gathering sensitive information, and delivering intrusive ads.
How did adware install on my computer?
It is sometimes possible to download potentially unwanted apps from their official websites, however, in most cases users install them inadvertently through intrusive advertisements or during the installation of other software.
Software developers often use a deceptive marketing method called "bundling", which is used to trick users into installing unwanted apps together with other software. Developers achieve this by hiding PUAs in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings of the installation set-ups.
They do not disclose information about the presence of these unwanted apps. Furthermore, many users install PUAs when they skip installation steps without checking available options/settings.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Download software using trustworthy and official sources only, especially if the software is free. Avoid using third party software downloaders and other similar sources to download software. Install software with care, check all the "Advanced", "Custom" and other similar options/settings, and opt-out of offers to install unwanted apps.
Many intrusive advertisements redirect users to gambling, adult dating, pornography, and other untrustworthy websites. If you are redirected to untrustworthy websites, check installed extensions, plug-ins, and add-ons on your web browser, and programs on your computer. Uninstall any suspicious/unwanted entries immediately.
If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
