Whateveryf.info POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is whateveryf.info?
whatevery.info is a rogue website similar to ariocroft.com, mansubscribe.com, incomingnow.com, and many others. It redirects visitors to dubious, untrustworthy websites. In most cases, potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) cause these redirects. Therefore, users often visit whatevery.information inadvertently. Generally, PUAs are installed unintentionally, and then deliver intrusive advertisements and collect data.
Once installed, this PUA continually opens the whatevery.information rogue website, which then causes even more redirects (about two or three) to other dubious websites that might be malicious. These sites can lead to high-risk computer infections. Another downside of having PUAs installed is the intrusive ads they deliver.
PUAs feed users with coupons, banners, surveys, and so on. These are displayed via tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. They are annoying (since they conceal content of any visited website) and, when clicked, often redirect users to untrustworthy websites or execute scripts that download and install malicious software.
Furthermore, PUAs record IP addresses, keystrokes, search queries, URLs of visited websites, and other browsing-related data. Some of this data might include personally identifiable or sensitive details. PUA developers generate revenue by sharing this data with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who go on to misuse it.
This situation can lead to problems with privacy, browsing safety, or even identity theft. We strongly recommend that you eliminate all installed PUAs immediately.

Threat Type | Adware, Unwanted ads, Pop-up Virus |
Symptoms | Seeing advertisements not originating from the sites you are browsing. Intrusive pop-up ads. Decreased Internet browsing speed. |
Distribution methods | Deceptive pop-up ads, free software installers (bundling), fake flash player installers. |

The number of PUAs is growing daily. Frequently, developers promote PUA as 'useful applications', however, these are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimacy. Most PUAs are designed only to generate revenue for their developers. They provide none of the functionality promised and only cause problems.
How did adware install on my computer?
Potentially unwanted applications are often available for download on their official websites, however, most people install then through intrusive ads that they click, or when software developers use a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". Bundling is stealth installation of potentially unwanted applications with other, regular software.
Developers often trick users into installing PUAs by not disclosing information regarding their presence in the set-ups. They hide them in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar options/settings of the installation processes. In many cases, skipped installation steps and clicked ads leads to inadvertent installation of potentially unwanted applications.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Download and install software with care, especially if it is free. Use official/trustworthy sources (websites or other channels) and direct links only. Do not download software using torrents or third party software downloaders. These programs promote PUAs using the "bundling" method.
Check all available "Custom", "Advanced" and other settings when going through the software installation steps. Deselect all unwanted/unknown/suspicious applications and only then complete the installation process. Intrusive ads may seem legitimate, but some redirect to gambling, adult dating, pornography and other suspicious/untrustworthy sites.
If you continually encounter these (or similar) redirects, check for suspicious add-ons, extensions, and plug-ins installed on your browser and remove them. The same applies to programs installed on your computer. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
