MyKrazyGames Adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is MyKrazyGames?
According to the developers, the MyKrazyGames app supposedly provides access to thousands of free online games directly from the web browser. It is promoted as a legitimate and useful app, however, MyKrazyGames is categorized as an adware-type potentially unwanted application (PUA). Most users install this app inadvertently. It then collects data and delivers intrusive advertisements.
Following installation, MyKrazyGames delivers coupons, banners, surveys, pop-ups, and other intrusive advertisements that are displayed using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site and conceal underlying content. This can be very annoying and frustrating.
Furthermore, when clicked, ads delivered by PUAs often redirect users to untrustworthy websites that might be malicious. Some can run scripts that download and install potentially unwanted applications or malicious software. By redirecting users to these websites, PUAs put users at risk of high-risk computer infections.
Another downside of PUAs is the information tracking aspect. Most PUAs gather data such as IP addresses, geo-locations, keystrokes, URLs of visited websites, search queries, and so on. This can include personal or sensitive details that are shared with third parties (potentially cyber criminals) who misuse private data to generate revenue.
As a result, users might start experiencing privacy or browsing safety issues, or even have their identities stolen. Therefore, we recommend that you uninstall MyKrazyGames and other PUAs immediately.

Many PUAs are similar or identical to MyKrazyGames. Some examples are Search Monkeys, DPower, and ArcadeFunNetwork. PUAs developers usually promote these apps as being useful, however, these are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimacy.
As a rule, PUAs are designed only to generate revenue for their developers by delivering advertisements and collecting data, rather than providing the features promised or any other value.
How did MyKrazyGames install on my computer?
Most users install PUAs such as MyKrazyGames inadvertently when software developers use the "bundling" method. This method is used to install various PUAs together with regular software (developers do not disclose information about included PUAs properly).
Developers hide bundled apps such as MyKrazyGames in "Custom", "Advanced" and other similar settings or options of the installation processes. Skipping installation steps without checking these options often leads to installation of potentially unwanted applications. In some cases, clicked ads can also result in these installations.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The key to computer safety is caution. Download software from trustworthy, official websites or other sources using direct links. Do not use third party software downloaders, torrent clients, or other software of this type as a source for downloading software.
Do not skip installation steps - check "Advanced", "Custom" and other settings and opt-out of any additionally-included applications. Only then finish the installation. As mentioned earlier, some ads redirect users to untrustworthy websites including, for example, gambling, pornography, adult dating, and so on.
If you encounter these ads or redirects, check for unwanted/unknown applications (extensions/plug-ins/add-ons) installed on your browser. If you to find any, remove them immediately. If your computer is already infected with MyKrazyGames, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this adware.
