Redonetype.com POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is redonetype.com?
redonetype.com is one of many rogue websites available on the internet, including veirregnant.club, smallentesa.club, shlega.com, etc. These sites are designed to redirect users to other untrustworthy websites. As a rule, most users visit redonetype.com unintentionally - they are redirected to it by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs).
These applications are often installed without users' knowledge, cause unwanted redirects, deliver intrusive ads, and gather data.
After installation, potentially unwanted applications open new tabs/windows in browsers and redirect users to redonetype.com. This website also causes redirects, forcing users to visit two or three other untrustworthy websites that might contain malicious content and infiltrate computers with high-risk infections.
Furthermore, PUAs deliver intrusive ads (mostly coupons, banners, surveys, and pop-ups) that are displayed via tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site and conceal underlying web content. Do not click these ads, since they tend to redirect users to other untrustworthy websites.
Some might execute scripts that download (and install) other potentially unwanted applications. Furthermore, installed PUAs are designed collect user-system information, including IP addresses, geo-locations, keystrokes, visited websites, search queries, and so on.
Some of the data might contain sensitive or personal information that is shared with third parties (potentially cyber criminals) and used to generate revenue. These actions can lead to privacy problems, browsing safety issues, or even identity theft. We strongly advise you to uninstall PUAs from web browsers or computers immediately.

Most potentially unwanted applications of this type are promoted by offering "useful" features or/and tools, however, few provide the functionality promised and are designed only to generate revenue by deploying intrusive advertisements and causing unwanted redirects. PUAs may seem legitimate, but once installed, often cause problems.
How did adware install on my computer?
Potentially unwanted applications can usually be found on their official websites and downloaded from there. In other cases, they infiltrate systems through intrusive ads, third party software downloaders or installers, or when software developers use a deceptive marketing method called "bundling".
Bundling is stealth installation of third party programs (in this case, potentially unwanted applications) with regular (usually free) software. As a rule, developers do not disclose installations of bundled applications properly and hide them in "Custom", "Advanced", "Manual" and other settings of the installation processes.
They are aware of the tendency for users to skip installation steps without checking any of these settings, and they use this to their advantage.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Do not use third party software downloaders, torrents, or untrustworthy websites as sources to download software. Use only official websites and direct links. Check all available "Advanced", "Custom" and other sections of the installation process and only then finish the installation or proceed to the next step.
Be cautious when browsing the web and avoid clicking on advertisements. Malicious advertisements may seem legitimate (since developers invest time and money into their design), however, they often redirect users to untrustworthy websites.
If you clicked one of these ads and were redirected to a gambling, pornography, adult dating, or other dubious website, close the newly-opened browser window/tab and check for unwanted extensions, plug-ins, and add-ons installed on your browser. You are advised to also check the list of installed programs on your computer.
If there are any unwanted or suspicious entries, remove them immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
