Comproliverton.pro POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is comproliverton.pro?
Identical to fastcanary.com, buzz-track.com, beteim.com and many others, comproliverton.pro is a rogue website that redirects users to various untrustworthy websites. In most cases, users visit comproliverton.pro inadvertently - they are redirected to it by potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) that typically infiltrate systems without permission.
Furthermore, PUPs deliver intrusive advertisements, gather various information, and reduce computer performance.
Following infiltration, potentially unwanted programs usually open new browser windows/tabs and redirect users to the comproliverton.pro rogue website. This website triggers additional redirects (usually 2-3) to other untrustworthy sites, at least one of which is likely to contain malicious content.
Therefore, redirects to comproliverton.pro might also lead to high-risk computer infections. Potentially unwanted programs deploy intrusive advertisements using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Most conceal underlying content, thereby diminishing the browsing experience.
Once clicked, they might redirect users to various unwanted/untrustworthy websites or even execute scripts that download and install malicious software (or other potentially unwanted programs).
Additionally, PUPs record user-system information (Internet Protocol addresses, visited websites, pages viewed, search queries, etc.) and share it with third parties (potentially cyber criminals) who generate revenue by misusing personal information. These actions can lead to privacy issues or even identity theft.
Furthermore, some potentially unwanted programs mine cryptocurrencies or run other unnecessary/unwanted processes in the background. In this way, PUPs misuse system resources, thereby significantly reducing overall system performance. For all these reasons, we advise you to uninstall all potentially unwanted programs immediately.

There are many PUPs, most of which are virtually identical. They claim to provide various "useful" features and tools, however, these promises are just attempts to trick users into installing other potentially unwanted programs.
In most cases, PUPs deliver no real value for regular users - their only purpose is to generate revenue for the developers by providing misleading redirects, unwanted ads, and so on.
How did adware install on my computer?
Most potentially unwanted programs can be downloaded from their official websites, however, in many cases, they are installed through intrusive ads or via a deceptive marketing method called "bundling". Bundling is a deceptive marketing method used by developers to stealthily install third party software (in this case, PUPs) with regular software that you download from the Internet.
Software developers hide these PUPs in "Custom", "Advanced", and other options/settings of the installation/download processes and do not properly disclose "bundled" PUPs installations. Developers are aware that many users tend to skip installation steps without checking options/settings and use this to their advantage.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To avoid installation of potentially unwanted programs, browse the web and install (and download) various software with caution, especially if the software is free. Do not skip installation steps without checking checkboxes that are ticked by default. Check also "Custom", "Advanced", and other similar settings and options.
Decline offers to install additional programs and tools and only then finish the installation. Download software from official sources and use direct links only. Avoid using third party software downloaders or installers, since they are usually monetized by promoting potentially unwanted programs. When browsing the web, avoid clicking on intrusive ads.
These often appear legitimate, but once clicked, redirect you to adult dating, pornography, gambling, and other dubious websites. If you have accidentally clicked such ads, check your browser plug-ins (or add-ons, extensions and installed programs on your computer) and immediately remove any suspicious entries.
Keep your antivirus software (and real-time protection) enabled and ensure that your web browser is not outdated. If your computer is already infected with comproliverton.pro, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this adware.
