What is search.hinstantnewsnow.co?
search.hinstantnewsnow.co is a fake search engine distributed by POLARITY TECHNOLOGIES and is promoted using the Instant News Now browser hijacker app. This is a browser hijacker that offers a news-based search engine with quick access to trending news on websites such as CNN, Yahoo! News, MSNBC, and Fox News.
The search.hinstantnewsnow.co search engine also allows users to access websites such as amazon.com, gmail.com, and facebook.com It contains two search boxes and a local weather tab. The Instant News Now browser hijacker targets popular web browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer.
Depending on your web browser, it can be installed as an extension, add-on, or a separate program on the Windows Operating System.
Once installed, it changes browser settings - the search engine, new tabs, and homepage are switched to search.hinstantnewsnow.co Furthermore, when you enter a search query and click the "Search" button, it redirects to search.yahoo.com, a legitimate Yahoo search engine.

Browser hijackers often claim to be legitimate, provide improved results, and various (dubious) tools, however, they often have just one main purpose - to generate revenue by providing misleading or unwanted redirects when a fake search engine is used (in this case, search.hinstantnewsnow.co).
Therefore, you are more likely to be redirected to various unwanted websites than benefit from any functionality promised. If you wish to know how other similar fake search engines appear, check out these examples: Easy To Watch News (identical to Instant News Now), SearchMood, and SmartEasyMaps.
How did Instant News Now install on my computer?
The Instant News Now app is available on instantnewsnow.co, however, it probably did not become installed in this way. There are many ad-supportive software packages and many cases whereby browser hijackers are bundled and installed with other software.
Software developers hide browser hijackers and other software in "Custom", "Advanced" (and other similar) options/settings of software installation dialog windows. It is well known that many users tend to skip these steps without taking a closer look at the "Custom" and "Advanced" settings - this is how apps such as browser hijackers go unnoticed.
Another way to install a browser hijacker inadvertently is through intrusive ads. These redirect to malicious websites and execute scripts that stealthily download and install software. Browser hijackers can be also be installed through third party software downloaders/installers. This is how developers monetize these installers - by promoting potentially unwanted programs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Do not download software from unofficial sources, torrents, or by using third party software downloaders. Use directs links only. Once you have software downloaded, check all available checkboxes and settings/options such as "Custom", "Advanced", etc. of the installation steps. Do not jump these steps without taking a closer look at what you are agreeing to.
In most cases, software developers do not disclose potentially unwanted program installations properly. Do not click suspicious and intrusive ads - by clicking these, you may end up on a malicious website or tricked into downloading malicious software. Do not turn off your antivirus software without any serious reason and keep your browser updated.
If your computer is already infected with Instant News Now, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate this browser hijacker.
