Stabers.club Redirect

What is stabers.club?
stabers.club is another fake web search engine that supposedly enhances the browsing experience by generating improved results.
This functionality may seem useful, however, the site is deceptive. Firstly, developers promote stabers.club using rogue downloaders/installers designed to modify browser options without permission. Secondly, this site continually gathers various data relating to users' web browsing activity.
Research shows that rogue set-ups target Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. Immediately after infiltration, they assign the new tab URL, default search engine, and homepage options to stabers.club. Although these changes may seem insignificant, users are unable to revert them - set-ups also install a number of third party applications and browser plug-ins.
These so-called "helper objects" reassign browser options when attempts are made to change them. As a result, returning browsers their previous states becomes impossible. Ultimately, users are forced to visit stabers.club when they open a new browser tab or search via the URL bar. This significantly diminishes the web browsing experience.
Furthermore, after entering a search query in stabers.club, users are redirected to google.com. In other words, they end up searching via Google (a legitimate web search engine). This makes stabers.club useless. Another important issue is data tracking. "Helper objects" and stabers.club record data relating to users' web browsing habits.
IP addresses, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, keystrokes, and other collected data often includes personal details. Furthermore, developers share the data with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who generate revenue by misusing private information. Therefore, information tracking can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft.
If you encounter redirects to stabers.club, immediately eliminate all dubious applications and browser plug-ins. Never return to this website.

stabers.club is virtually identical to hundreds of other fake web search engines such as, for example, searchgosearch.com, go.mennythanks.com, and smartmediatabsearch.com.
By offering improved results and other useful features (shortcuts to popular websites, weather forecasts, and similar), fake search engines attempt to give the impression of legitimacy, however, they are designed only to generate revenue for the developers, deliver no value for regular users, cause unwanted redirects, and record personal information.
In some cases, fake search engines generate misleading results and intrusive advertisements (e.g., coupons, banners, and so on). These typically lead to dubious websites. Therefore, using fake search engines risks various computer infections.
How did stabers.club install on my computer?
As mentioned above, stabers.club is promoted mostly using rogue downloaders/installers - a method called "bundling". Developers are aware that users often rush when downloading and installing software. Therefore, all details regarding modification of browser options are hidden within "Custom/Advanced" settings.
Developers do not disclose this information properly. Therefore, skipping download/installation steps inadvertently grants set-ups permission to perform browser changes.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Potentially unwanted programs are distributed using the "bundling" method and intrusive advertisements. Therefore, to prevent installation, be extremely cautious during the download/installation processes and when browsing the Internet in general. Select "Custom/Advanced" settings, closely analyze each download/installation step, and opt-out of all additionally-included programs.
You are also advised to download programs from their official websites only, using direct download links. Third party downloaders/installers should never be used, since developers monetize them by promoting PUPs (the "bundling" method).
Bear in mind that intrusive ads often seem legitimate, but once clicked, redirect to dubious sites (gambling, pornography, etc.) These advertisements are usually delivered by adware-type PUPs. Therefore, if you encounter them, immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins.
