Search.easytelevisionaccess.com Redirect

What is search.easytelevisionaccess.com?
Easy Television Access is a rogue application that supposedly allows users to watch various TV shows and movies free of charge.
Initially, this functionality may appear legitimate and useful, however, Easy Television Access often infiltrates systems without permission. Furthermore, this app stealthily modifies web browser settings and gathers various data. For these reasons, Easy Television Access is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and a browser hijacker.
Immediately after infiltration, Easy Television Access hijacks Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, modifying the default search engine, homepage, and new tab URL settings by assigning them to search.easytelevisionaccess.com (a fake Internet search engine).
From this point, users are automatically redirected to search.easytelevisionaccess.com when they open a new browser tab and/or search via the URL bar. Note that, although these changes may seem insignificant, users are unable to revert them. Easy Television Access continually reassigns browser settings when attempts are made to change them.
Therefore, it becomes impossible to return browsers to their previous states. This application is essentially used to deceptively build search.easytelevisionaccess.com traffic at the cost of users' browsing experience. In addition, Easy Television Access continually records various information (mostly relating to Internet browsing habits).
Collected data is likely to contain personal details that Easy Television Access developers share with third parties to generate revenue. In doing so, these people put your privacy at risk.
Modification of web browser options and information tracking is common to browser-hijacking apps, however, in some cases, these applications also mine cryptoccurency or run other unwanted processes in the background. By stealthily misusing resources, these applications significantly reduce system performance.
Therefore, we recommend that you uninstall the Easy Television Access browser hijacker immediately and never visit search.easytelevisionaccess.com again.

Easy Television Access is identical to Easy Interests Access, Easy Recipes Access, and Easy Radio Access. These apps offer different functions, but have identical behavior - they modify web browser options and continually record user-system information.
In fact, browser-hijacking apps such as Easy Television Access are designed only to generate revenue for the developers. They typically deliver no real value for regular users. These potentially unwanted programs pose a direct threat to users' privacy and Internet browsing safety.
Furthermore, fake search engines (promoted by browser hijackers) often feed users with false search results and/or intrusive ads. Both usually lead to malicious websites. Furthermore, some ads run scripts designed to download/install malware/potentially unwanted programs. For these reasons, using fake search engines is very risky.
How did search.easytelevisionaccess.com install on my computer?
Easy Television Access has an official promotion website, however, browser hijackers are also distributed using intrusive advertisements together with a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" - stealth installation of third party software together with regular (mostly free) apps.
Developers do not disclose installation of "bundled" apps properly - they hide this information within the "Custom/Advanced" settings or other sections of the download/installation processes.
Many rush these processes and skip steps. Furthermore, they often click various advertisements without considering the possible consequences. In doing so, they expose their systems to risk of various infections.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The main reasons for computer infections are poor knowledge and careless behavior. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, carefully analyze each step of the download/installation steps using "Custom/Advanced" settings and opt-out of all additionally-included programs. Note that criminals invest a great deal of time and effort into designing malicious ads.
Therefore, most look genuine, however, these ads are distinguishable for their redirects - most lead to gambling, pornography, adult dating, and other suspicious sites. If you are encountering such ads, uninstall all dubious apps and browser plug-ins.
