Fooriza Adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Fooriza?
Fooriza is a deceptive application that falsely claims to help in finding various content on the Internet. On initial inspection, Fooriza may appear legitimate and useful, however, this app is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and adware.
There are three main reasons for these negative associations: 1) stealth installation without consent; 2) display of intrusive advertisements, and; 3) tracking of users' Internet browsing activity.
Following successful infiltration, Fooriza delivers pop-up, banner, coupon, and other intrusive ads. These often conceal underlying content of visited websites, significantly diminishing the web browsing experience. In addition, they commonly redirect to malicious websites - clicking them might cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
Furthermore Fooriza adware monitors browsing activity by gathering various user-system information containing personal details. The list of collected data types includes (but is not limited to) website URLs visited, pages viewed, queries entered into search engines, and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
This information is shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who generate revenue by misusing personal information. Therefore, the presence of an information-tracking app such as Fooriza can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. We strongly advise you to uninstall this adware immediately.

Fooriza is virtually identical to Tabs2Grid, ShutDownTime, Right-Click Search, and dozens of other adware-type applications. Although these PUPs offer different functionality, they have identical behavior. PUPs such as Fooriza are designed only to generate revenue for the developers and give no significant value for regular users.
Adware-type apps deliver intrusive advertisements (using the "Pay Per Click" advertising model) and continually record private data (which is later sold to third parties).
How did Fooriza install on my computer?
Fooriza is free for anyone to download on its official website, however, many users install this PUP inadvertently, without their consent. This is due to a deceptive marketing method called "bundling", which developers use to proliferate Fooriza adware. Bundling is stealth installation of third party applications with regular software.
Developers hide bundled apps within the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings of the download/installation processes. Skipping this section often leads to inadvertent installation of PUPs such as Fooriza.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
This situation can be prevented by taking two simple steps. First, select the "Custom/Advanced" options and carefully analyze each step. Second, decline offers to download/install additional applications and cancel those already included. The key to computer safety is caution.
