Play now Radio Ads

What is Play now Radio?
Created by Montiera Technologies Ltd, Play now Radio is a rogue browser extension claiming to enhance the Internet browsing experience by providing a function to listen to the radio via Internet browsers. This rogue browser add-on is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome.
Although Play now Radio may seem to be legitimate and useful, be aware that it is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) or adware.
This rogue browser plug-in employs a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional programs together with the chosen free software) to install on Internet browsers without users' permission. After successful infiltration, Play now Radio generates intrusive online advertisements and tracks users' Internet browsing activity.
These intrusive online advertisements include banner, in-text, coupon, price comparison, and other related ads. Most of these advertisements are provided by third party adware such as RevenueHits, DealPly, and Jollywallet among many others. Clicking these advertisements is likely to cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
In addition, this PUP continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity by recording various software and hardware information including IP addresses (to determine users' geo-locations), unique identifier numbers, search queries entered into search engines, website URLs visited, pages viewed, and other details that may be personally identifiable.
This behavior may result in serious privacy issues or identity theft, and therefore, you are strongly advised to eliminate Play now Radio from your Internet browsers.
There are many rogue browser extensions similar to Play now Radio. For example: KeepMySettingsX, Searchgol, and Triple-Search. These browser add-ons, including Play now Radio, are useless to the user - their purpose is to generate revenue by dubious methods (displaying ads, diminishing Internet browser performance, and tracking users' Internet browsing activity).
Users commonly install adware such as Play now Radio inadvertently during download of free software via small programs called 'download managers' on freeware download websites (such as softonic.com, download.com, and soft32.com).
Download clients are employed by these websites as free service monetization tools, since they offer installation of advertised (according to the developers, '100% virus-free') browser extensions together with the chosen free software. Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be avoided by closely studying each step of the free software download process and clicking 'Decline' if installation of any additional applications is offered.
Furthermore, if you are installing downloaded software, select the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation and allow you to decline them.
If you have installed Play now Radio, and experience intrusive online advertisements, read the removal instructions provided to uninstall this adware from your Internet browsers.
