Ads by PassShow

What is PassShow?
Created by Virtue Interactive Ltd, PassShow is a rogue browser add-on claiming to improve users' Internet browsing experience by enabling them to save passwords entered on any website.
The developers of this rogue plug-in employ a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' to install PassShow on Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome) without users' permission.
Bundling is a way to stealthily distribute applications together with other software, and for this reason, most users infect their computers with PassShow during download of free software on freeware download websites. Although PassShow may appear to provide legitimate and useful functionality, be aware that it is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted program (PUP).
Following stealth installation, PassShow generates numerous intrusive online advertisements including coupon, banner, pop-up, in-text, and price comparison ads. There is a high probability that clicking these advertisements will cause high-risk adware or malware infections.
Furthermore, PassShow continually monitors users' Internet browsing activity by collecting various personal information that is likely to be personally identifiable.
For example: Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, geographic locations, unique identifier numbers, operating system information (types, versions, CPU types), search queries entered, search engines used, website URLs visited, pages viewed, and other details.
This behavior may lead to serious privacy issues or identity theft. PassShow is similar to other adware that uses bundling as an installation method such as clicknmark, PassWizard, ReMarkable, and many others.
The purpose of this adware is to generate revenue by the display of intrusive online ads and none provide any real value for the user. Therefore, you are strongly advised to eliminate PassShow from your Internet browsers.
Most adware is distributed via small programs called 'download clients' on freeware download websites such as soft32.com, download.com, softonic.com, etc.
Download clients are used to monetize these websites' free services by offering installation of promoted (according to the developers, '100% virus-free and legitimate') browser extensions together with the chosen free software. Thus, reckless download and installation of freeware often results in adware or malware infections.
This situation can be avoided by inspecting each step of the free software download process and never accepting installation of any additional programs offered.
Furthermore, software downloaded from the Internet should be installed using the 'Advanced' or 'Custom' installation options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any hidden applications listed for installation and allow you to decline them. If your computer is infected with PassShow adware, read the removal instructions provided to uninstall it from your Internet browsers.
