Blindbat Ads

What is Blindbat?
Blindbat is a potentially unwanted browser extension, which claims to enhance the quality of user's Internet browsing experience by displaying website trust ratings, enabling coupons, comparison shopping, and other functions. The developers of Blindbat (SuperWeb LLC) optimize this browser extension for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome.
On initial inspection, this browser plug-in may seem legitimate, however, be aware that it is categorized as adware since it infiltrates browsers using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' (stealth installation of additional applications along with the chosen software).
After a successful installation, Blindbat generates various intrusive advertisements, including text link, banner, search, interstitial, transitional, and full page ads.
In addition, this potentially unwanted browser application tracks users' Internet browsing activity by recording hardware and software information such as unique identifier numbers, IP addresses, browser information, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other information.
SuperWeb LLC has released over one hundred rogue browser plug-ins identical to Blindbat, including Alleybrowse, ZoneTrek, AdvanceMark, and Spadecast.
These plug-ins have no legitimate use. In fact, the presence of Blindbat or any other similar adware on your system may lead to serious privacy issues, identity theft, or malware infections.
This company intentionally releases identical browser extensions under different names to avoid detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware software. The main purpose of these add-ons is to generate income by displaying intrusive online advertisements.
Users should be aware that most current freeware download websites (such as download.com, soft32.com, softonic.com, and many others) use 'download managers' to monetize their free services. Download managers are small programs offering installation of advertised browser plug-ins along with the chosen software.
Therefore, users should express caution and inspect each step when downloading freeware. Be sure to decline installation of any promoted browser extensions. When installing downloaded software, choose the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' options, rather than 'Quick' or 'Typical' - this will reveal any bundled applications listed for installation, and you will be able to decline them.
Reckless downloading and installation of freeware may result in adware or malware infections. Users who observe "Ads by Blindbat", "Powered by Blindbat", and "Blindbat Deals", should follow this removal guide to eliminate this adware from their Internet browser/s.
