What is Plus-HD?
Created by Kimahari Software Inc., the Plus-HD browser plugin claims to enhance users' YouTube experience by setting the videos to the highest available quality.
While some computer users may find such functionality useful, in fact, the Plus-HD add-on is categorized as adware or a potentially unwanted application since it infiltrates Internet browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling'.
Computer users often install Plus-HD inadvertently without their consent when downloading free software.
After successful installation, this browser plugin diminishes Internet browser performance and generates intrusive ads including, for example, price comparison ads, coupons, pop-unders/ups, banner, inline text, and transitional ads. Moreover, this browser extension tracks users' Internet browsing activity on all websites visited.
Having Plus-HD installed on your Internet browsers can lead to malware infections and privacy issues, and therefore, you are advised to eliminate this adware from your system. This browser extension adds no real value and is a useless program the main purpose of which is to generate revenue from intrusive online advertisements.
Plus-HD adware is similar to other potentially unwanted applications, which install together with free software downloaded from the Internet. Examples include Feven, You-Bar, Search highlighter, and Search Donkey. These browser plug-ins add no real value, thus, to avoid installation, be attentive when downloading freeware.
Today, most free software download websites use deceptive 'download clients' to offer installation of promoted browser plug-ins together with the chosen freeware. Download clients are used to monetize free services provided by freeware download websites, and whilst legitimate, commonly cause unwilling installation of adware.
When downloading free software, opt-out of installation of advertised browser plug-ins by clicking the 'decline' button. Computer users, who observe 'Powered by Plus-HD' ads when surfing the Internet, should use this removal guide to eliminate adware from their Internet browser/s.
