Buzzdock Adware
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is Buzzdock?
Developed by Alactro LLC, the Buzzdock browser extension claims to enhance the Internet search experience by displaying additional results beneath a favoured search bar. Following installation of this browser add-on, the Buzzdock tab appears below the search bar when the user visits Google to search the Internet.
This toolbar displays additional search results from Yahoo, YouTube, Twitter, Amazon, etc. Although this functionality may seem useful, there is a downside to using this browser plug-in: Buzzdock displays unwanted ads (banner ads and text link), and furthermore, this extension causes redirects to search.buzzdock.com
In addition, many computer users report that they have inadvertently installed this add-on, a situation which may occur when users download and install free software. Note that many freeware developers 'bundle' their free software with unwanted browser plug-ins such as this to monetize their downloads.
Buzzdock may be installed together with FreeTwitTube or when downloading freeware from various download websites (these websites often use small programs called 'download clients' to facilitate bundled downloading of unwanted software).
Although Buzzdock is not directly related to computer viruses or malware infections, it is categorized as adware, and therefore, should be removed from your Internet browsers.
In most cases, unwanted Buzzdock ads and redirects to search.buzzdock.com are a consequence of reckless free software installation.
To avoid adware installations of this type, closely check each installation step of freeware, disallowing any suggested changes to your Internet browser settings and unchecking options relating to installation of additional browser add-ons or software.
Some freeware may not allow installation without additional installation of programs or extensions - in this case, cancel the installation. To eliminate the Buzzdock plug-in and eliminate redirects to search.buzzdock.com, use the removal guide provided below.
