Removing DynamicLush adware from the operating system
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is DynamicLush?
While looking through new submissions to VirusTotal, our researchers discovered the DynamicLush application. Our analysis of this piece of software revealed that it operates as adware and belongs to the AdLoad malware family.
DynamicLush adware overview
Adware may not display advertisements if certain conditions are not met, e.g., browser/system is incompatible, visits to particular websites are not made, etc. However, regardless of whether DynamicLush (or other advertising-supported software) delivers adverts or not - its presence on a system endangers device/user safety.
Adware-delivered ads endorse online scams, untrustworthy/harmful websites and software, and even malware. Some intrusive advertisements can stealthily download/install software upon being clicked.
Note that any legitimate products pushed through adware are unlikely to be promoted by their actual developers. Instead, this promotion is undertaken by scammers abusing the products' affiliate programs to acquire illegitimate commissions.
Furthermore, DynamicLush might have browser hijacker functionalities. These qualities are typical for AdLoad adware - however, we did not observe any during our analysis.
What is more, advertising-supported software usually has data tracking abilities, and this likely applies to DynamicLush as well. Targeted information can include: browsing-related data, usernames/passwords, personally identifiable details, credit card numbers, etc. The gathered information is then shared with and/or sold to third-parties (potentially, cyber criminals).
To summarize, the presence of DynamicLush or similar software on devices can lead to system infections, severe privacy issues, financial losses, and even identity theft.

Adware examples
We have analyzed thousands of adware-type apps; GenesisMass, InitialSprint, DigitalPaper, and AssetFrame are just some examples. Advertising-supported software appears legitimate and offers "useful" and "advantageous" features. However, these functions rarely work as promised, and in most cases - they do not work at all.
How did DynamicLush install on my computer?
Adware is proliferated using a wide variety of deceptive and dubious methods. It can be bundled (packed together) with ordinary programs. Download from untrustworthy sources (e.g., freeware and third-party sites, P2P sharing networks, etc.) and rushed installations increase the risk of allowing bundled content into the device.
Additionally, advertising-supported software is spread through intrusive advertisements. Once clicked on, some of these ads can execute scripts to make stealthy downloads/installations. Fake Adobe Flash Player updaters/installers are used in distribution as well.
Adware is also promoted via "official" download webpages and scam sites. Most users enter pages of this kind through redirects caused by websites using rogue advertising networks, spam browser notifications, mistyped URLs, intrusive adverts, or installed adware (with browser force-opening abilities).
How to avoid installation of adware?
We strongly recommend researching software products and downloading them from official and verified channels. Furthermore, installation processes must be approached with caution. Hence, it is important to read terms, explore available options, use the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings, and opt-out of all supplements.
Another recommendation is to be vigilant when browsing since illegitimate and malicious content typically appears harmless. For example, intrusive ads look legitimate yet redirect highly questionable sites (e.g., gambling, pornography, adult-dating, etc.).
In case of encounters with advertisements/redirects of this type, inspect the system and immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with DynamicLush, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for macOS to automatically eliminate this adware.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What harm can adware cause?
Adware endangers device integrity and user safety. Advertising-supported software can diminish the browsing experience and system performance. It typically has data tracking abilities, which also make this software a threat to user privacy. Furthermore, adware-delivered ads can be deceptive/malicious and cause serious issues.
What does adware do?
Adware is designed to feed users various advertisements. It can enable the placement of ads on visited websites and/or other interfaces. Additionally, some types can force-open sites and gather private data.
How do adware developers generate revenue?
Adware developers generate profit mainly by promoting various websites, applications, software, products, services, and similar - via affiliate programs.
Will Combo Cleaner remove DynamicLush adware?
Yes, Combo Cleaner is capable of scanning computers and eliminating detected adware-type apps. Note that manual removal (unaided by security software) might be ineffective. In some cases, even after the adware itself has been (manually) eliminated - file leftovers stay hidden within the system. Furthermore, the remnants can continue running and causing issues. Therefore, it is paramount to remove adware thoroughly.
