How to stop redirects to and from mmk-news3.club

What is mmk-news3[.]club?
Sharing many similarities with undertain.work, liveplayingnow.com, swindoors.work, jrg-news1.club and thousands of other sites on the web, mmk-news3[.]club is a rogue website. Visitors to this page are presented with dubious content and/or are redirected to other untrusted or possibly malicious sites.
Few users access mmk-news3[.]club intentionally - most are redirected to it by intrusive ads or by Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs) already installed on their devices. This software does not need explicit user permission to infiltrate systems. PUAs cause redirects, run intrusive advertisement campaigns and collect browsing-related information.
When accessed, mmk-news3[.]club first checks visitors' IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to learn their geolocations, as the website's further course of action is determined by this information. I.e., whether visitors are redirected elsewhere and/or are presented with dubious material depends on their geolocations.
Furthermore, these rogue pages tend to use deceptive tactics (e.g. 'clickbait') to trick users into enabling their browser notifications - mmk-news3[.]club is no exception to this, and instructs visitors to "Press 'Allow' to watch a video". Should the notifications be allowed, the web page starts delivering intrusive ad campaigns.
The delivered ads are more than just a nuisance, they also pose a threat to device/user safety. When clicked, intrusive advertisements redirect to dubious/dangerous sites and some can even stealthily download/install software. PUAs are a prime example of content infiltrated into systems in this manner.
These apps can have dangerous capabilities and the functions can be in varied combinations. For example, PUAs can force-open harmful websites and run intrusive ad campaigns. Furthermore, most PUAs can track data.
They can record browsing activity (URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries typed, etc.) and collect sensitive information extracted from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). The gathered data usually contains personally identifiable information.
PUA developers monetize this information by sharing it with and/or selling it to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals). In summary, the presence of unwanted software on devices can lead to system infections, serious privacy issues, financial loss and even identity theft.
To ensure device integrity and user privacy, all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins must be removed immediately upon detection.

Symptoms | Seeing advertisements not originating from the sites you are browsing. Intrusive pop-up ads. Decreased Internet browsing speed. |

Damage | Decreased computer performance, browser tracking - privacy issues, possible additional malware infections. |
Malware Removal (Windows) | To eliminate possible malware infections, scan your computer with legitimate antivirus software. Our security researchers recommend using Combo Cleaner. |
PUAs typically seem legitimate and harmless, and users are enticed into download/installation and purchase with offers of various "useful" functionality, however, the advertised functions are rarely operational. The only purpose of these unwanted apps is to generate revenue for the developers.
Rather than delivering any real value, PUAs cause redirects, deliver intrusive advertisement campaigns and collect private data.
How did adware install on my computer?
Browser hijackers, adware-type apps, and other types of PUAs are commonly distributed by integrating them into the download and/or installation set-ups of other programs, so that a proportion of users inadvertently download and install them together with their chosen software.
This distribution method is known as "bundling". Offers to download and install additionally-included apps usually appear in "Advanced", "Custom" and other settings of the set-ups (where they can usually be declined). Many users fail to check and change these settings, thereby granting permission for PUAs to be downloaded and installed by default.
In addition, unwanted downloads and installations are sometimes caused by clicking deceptive advertisements capable of executing certain scripts.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are advised to research all software before download/installation. Use only official and verified download channels. Unofficial and free file-hosting websites, Peer-to-Peer sharing networks (BitTorrent, Gnutella, eMule), and other third party downloaders commonly offer harmful and bundled content, and are therefore untrusted and should be avoided.
When downloading/installing, read the terms, study all possible options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and opt-out of additional apps, tools, features, and so on. Intrusive advertisements typically seem legitimate, however, they can redirect to dubious and malicious sites (e.g. gambling, pornography, adult-dating, and many others).
If you encounter ads or redirects of this kind, inspect the system and remove all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
