How to stop redirects to and from unfurlable.com

What is unfurlable[.]com?
Sharing many similarities with the-best-casino-bonus.com, hopsigna.com, message-inbox.icu and countless others, unfurlable[.]com is a rogue website. It operates by presenting visitors with dubious content and/or by redirecting them to other dubious and possibly malicious pages.
Few visitors to unfurlable[.]com (and sites akin to it) access this web page intentionally - most are redirected to it by intrusive advertisements or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs). These apps do not need explicit user consent to be installed onto devices. PUAs cause redirects, run intrusive ad campaigns and collect information relating to browsing.
When accessed, unfurlable[.]com first checks visitors' IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to learn their geolocations. This information is crucial in determining the site's further course of action. I.e., whether users are redirected elsewhere and/or are presented with dubious material depends on their geolocations.
Furthermore, this website uses browser notifications. The visuals users are presented with on the page seem to imply that the notifications must be enabled to view the displayed video, however, if unfurlable[.]com site's notifications are enabled, it starts running intrusive ad campaigns.
The ads are more than just a nuisance, they are also harmful. When clicked, intrusive advertisements can redirect to dubious/malicious websites and some can even stealthily download/install rogue software (e.g. PUAs) without users' permission.
These unwanted applications can force-open dubious/dangerous web pages (including unfurlable[.]com) and can have other capabilities. PUAs can run intrusive advertisements campaigns, delivering pop-ups, banners, coupons, surveys, etc. Furthermore, most PUAs have data tracking capabilities.
They can monitor browsing activity (visited URLs, viewed pages, typed search queries, etc.) and gather sensitive information extracted from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). The gathered data usually contains personally identifiable information that PUA developers share with and/or sell to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals).
To summarize, the presence of unwanted software on devices can lead to system infections, financial loss, serious privacy issues and even identity theft. Therefore, you are strongly advised to eliminate all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately upon detection.

Symptoms | Seeing advertisements not originating from the sites you are browsing. Intrusive pop-up ads. Decreased Internet browsing speed. |

PUAs often seem legitimate and harmless, and users are lured into download/installation with offers of "useful" functionality, however, these features rarely work as advertised and, in most cases, do not work at all. The only purpose of PUA is to generate revenue for the developers.
Rather than delivering any real value, they can cause redirects, run intrusive advertisement campaigns and track private data.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs are distributed via the download/installation set-ups of other products. This deceptive marketing technique of packing normal software with unwanted or malicious additions is termed "bundling".
By rushing through download/installation processes (e.g. ignoring terms, using "Quick/Express" options, etc.), many users risk inadvertently allowing harmful or bundled content onto their devices. Some PUAs have "official" promotional web pages, from which they can be obtained.
Intrusive ads proliferate these applications as well. Once clicked, they can execute scripts to download/install PUAs without users' permission.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are strongly advised to research all products prior to download/installation and/or purchase. All downloads must be done from official and verified sources, since untrusted channels including unofficial and free file-hosting websites, P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, eMule, Gnutella, etc.) and other third party downloaders commonly offer deceptive and bundled content.
Download and installation processes must be approached with care: read the terms, study all possible options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings and decline additional apps, tools, features, etc. Intrusive advertisements may seem legitimate, however, they can redirect to dubious sites (e.g. pornography, adult-dating, gambling, and many others).
If you encounter these ads or redirects, inspect your devices and immediately remove all dubious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
