How to stop redirects to and from oawhaursaith.com
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is oawhaursaith[.]com?
oawhaursaith[.]com is a rogue website which shares many similarities with globallyreinvation.com, fasttrack.mobi, findyourpleasure3.life, and thousands of others. Visitors to this site are presented with dubious material and/or are redirected to other untrusted, even malicious pages. Rogue websites are typically accessed via intrusive ads or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs).
These apps do not need explicit user consent to be installed onto their devices. Following successful infiltration, however, PUAs cause redirects, deliver intrusive advertisement campaigns, hijack browsers and collect browsing-related data.
The user's geolocation is the deciding factor in the behavior of oawhaursaith[.]com - it learns this information by checking visitors' IP addresses. Therefore, depending on their geolocations, users are redirected elsewhere and/or are presented with dubious content.
Visitors are often redirected to various promotional/sale-oriented, untrusted/rogue, compromised, deceptive/scam and malicious web pages. Note that oawhaursaith[.]com has been observed redirecting to the promotional sites of GalaxySpin and SearchHD browser hijackers.
Furthermore, oawhaursaith[.]com employs deceptive tactics (i.e., clickbait) to trick users into allowing browser notifications ("Click Allow! Please click the Allow button to watch the video. / Can't play this video! Perhaps your browser doesn't allow video playback. Please click the Allow button to watch the video").
If the notifications are enabled, oawhaursaith[.]com will begin running intrusive ad campaigns. When clicked, the resultant advertisements redirect to similarly dangerous pages and can execute scripts to download/install rogue software (e.g. PUAs) without users' permission.
These unwanted applications, classified as adware, deliver intrusive advertisement campaigns as well. Another type called browser hijackers modify browsers, restrict/deny access to their settings and promote bogus search engines. Furthermore, most PUAs can track data.
They can monitor browsing activity (browsing and search engine histories) and gather personal information extracted from it (IP addresses, geolocations and other details). The collected data is often shared with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) intent on misusing it for profit.
In summary, unwanted apps can cause system infections, financial loss, serious privacy issues and even identity theft. To ensure device and user safety, remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins without delay.

PUAs may seem legitimate and harmless, and users are often tempted into download/installation with offers of "useful" functionalities, however, the features promised are usually nonoperational. The only purpose of these unwanted apps is to generate revenue for the developers.
Rather than delivering any real value, PUAs force-open untrusted and malicious web pages, run intrusive ad campaigns, hijack browsers and track sensitive data.
How did adware install on my computer?
Some PUAs have "official" promotional sites from which they can be downloaded, however, they are more commonly downloaded/installed with other programs. This deceptive marketing technique of pre-packing regular software with unwanted or malicious additions is termed "bundling".
Rushing download/installation processes (e.g. skipping steps and sections, using pre-set options, etc.) increases the risk of unintentionally allowing bundled and/or dubious content into the device. When clicked, intrusive advertisements can execute scripts designed to stealthily download/install PUAs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are strongly advised to research all software before download/installation. All downloads must be performed from official and trustworthy sources. Untrusted download channels such as unofficial and free file-hosting websites, P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, Gnutella, eMule, etc.) and other third party downloaders can offer harmful and bundled content.
When downloading/installing, read the terms, study all available options, use the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings and opt-out of supplementary apps, tools, functions and other additions. It is also important to exercise caution when browsing. Intrusive ads may seem normal, however, they can redirect to dubious web pages (e.g. pornography, gambling, adult-dating, etc.).
If you experience ads/redirects of this kind, inspect the system and immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
