What is arentcragge[.]info?
arentcragge[.]info is a rogue website similar to veletonjectof.pro, witarheckrenning.pro, babunenhemted.pro, and many others. It operates by delivering dubious content and causing redirects to untrustworthy and malicious sites.
Few visitors enter arentcragge[.]info willingly - most are redirected by intrusive ads or Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUAs). Note that these apps do not need express permission to infiltrate systems. PUAs then go on to cause redirects, deliver ad campaigns, and some can even track data.
arentcragge[.]info checks visitors' IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to learn their geolocations. This information is key to determining this web page's course of action. Depending on the geolocations, users are redirected elsewhere and/or are fed dubious content.
This site also misuses browser notifications. It claims that visitors need to enable browser notifications to begin downloading. If enabled, however, arentcragge[.]info starts running intrusive ad campaigns. The resultant ads are harmful and a potential threat to device/user safety.
They cause redirects to compromised and malicious websites, and some can execute scripts to stealthily download/install PUAs. As well as generating redirects, PUAs run ad campaigns.
By employing various tools, they enable display of third party graphical content on any site, thereby delivering intrusive ads (pop-up, banners, coupons surveys, etc.), which significantly diminish the browsing experience (hinder web page visibility).
Additionally, some PUAs have data tracking capabilities, which they use to record browsing activity (URLs visited, pages viewed, search engine history, etc.) and gather personal information (IP addresses, geolocations, and personal details). This vulnerable data is then passed on to third parties (often, cyber criminals) seeking to generate revenue by misusing private information.
To summarize, PUAs can cause browser/system infiltration and infections and lead to serious privacy issues, financial loss, and even identity theft. To ensure device integrity and user safety, remove all suspect applications and browser extensions/plug-ins immediately upon detection.

There are countless PUAs online. Most share common characteristics. They often seem legitimate and tempt users to install by offering a wide range of "useful" features, which are rarely operational.
The only purpose of unwanted software/content is to generate revenue for the designers. Regular users receive no real value. PUAs cause redirects, deliver intrusive ad campaigns, and collect private data.
How did adware install on my computer?
PUAs are spread via the download/install set-ups of other programs. The deceptive marketing tactic of packing regular software with unwanted or malicious content is called "bundling".
Rushing download/installation processes (e.g. ignoring or skimming terms, using pre-set options, skipping steps and sections, etc.) endangers devices with potential system infiltration and infections.
Some PUAs have "official" promotional web pages on which they are typically advertised as "useful" and "free" software. Intrusive ads also proliferate PUAs. When clicked, they can execute scripts designed to download/install PUAs without users' consent.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
You are strongly advised to research software and content to verify its legitimacy, before downloading/installing. Use only official and verified download sources, and not P2P sharing networks (BitTorrent, eMule, Gnutella, etc.), free file-hosting sites, or other third party downloaders.
Untrustworthy download channels might offer deceptive and/or bundled software. Download and installation processes should be treated with caution.
Read the terms, explore all possible options, use the "Custom/Advanced" settings, and decline to download/install additional apps, tools, features, etc. Usually hosted by compromised web pages, intrusive ads often seem normal and innocuous. When clicked, however, they redirect to dubious websites, such as gambling, adult-dating, pornography, and others.
If you experience ads/redirects of this type, check the system and remove all dubious applications and/or browser extensions/plug-ins without delay. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
