Remove apps that cause redirects to track.nuxues.com
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is track.nuxues[.]com?
track.nuxues[.]com is designed to redirect visitors to other untrustworthy, potentially malicious sites or display dubious content. It is very similar to other websites of this type such as talkreply[.]com, news-jupiter[.]com, and videommm[.]pro. In most cases, browsers open these websites when potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) are installed.
Therefore, people do not generally visit them intentionally. Note that PUAs collect information relating to users' browsing habits and/or display intrusive ads. Furthermore, people usually download and install PUAs accidentally.
When opened, track.nuxues[.]com displays dubious content or opens additional, untrustworthy sites (about two or three). Its actions depend on the visitor's Internet Protocol (IP) address. Sites opened through websites such as track.nuxues[.]com are generally used to promote unwanted or even malicious applications.
You are strongly advised not to download anything from these sites and close them immediately. PUAs also gather various details relating to users' browsing activities - they target details such as users' IP addresses, geolocations, entered search queries, addresses of all visited sites, and so on.
PUAs can also record personal details. In any case, people who design PUAs share the data with other parties who misuse it to generate revenue. These third parties might include cyber criminals. Furthermore, PUAs are often designed to display unwanted, intrusive ads.
After installation, they feed users with ads such as coupons, banners, surveys, pop-ups, etc. When clicked, these open dubious websites or download/install unwanted software. Therefore, do not click these ads. Having PUAs installed can thus lead to problems with privacy, browsing safety, and so on. Some users might even become victims of identity theft.

Most PUAs have similar behavior: they cause redirects to untrustworthy websites, collect user-system information, and display deceptive, intrusive advertisements. In summary, they perform these tasks to enable developers to generate revenue. Note that PUAs provide no useful features, tools, or any other value. Therefore, uninstall them immediately.
How did adware install on my computer?
Typically, people download and install unwanted software unintentionally when they click deceptive ads. Once clicked, many ads run scripts that download/install unwanted applications. They can also be downloaded or installed through the set-ups of other programs.
Developers include PUAs in various download or installation set-ups and do not disclose related information - offers to download/install additional software are hidden in settings such as "Custom", "Advanced", "Manual" (and others).
This is called "bundling", a deceptive marketing method that developers use to trick people into downloading and installing PUAs with regular software. This unwanted software infiltrates when people leave settings available in set-ups unchanged.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications
Unwanted downloads/installations can be avoided by downloading software from official websites only. Do not use other tools. Examples of dubious download/installation channels are Peer-to-Peer networks (torrent clients, eMule), unofficial websites, third party downloaders, installers, and other tools.
Furthermore, check all settings included in download or installation setups. Dismiss any additional downloads or installations. Do not click ads displayed on dubious sites relating to gambling, adult dating, pornography, etc. Typically, they open untrustworthy websites. In some cases they cause download/installation of unwanted applications.
To prevent browsers from opening untrustworthy websites and/or displaying ads, uninstall all unwanted, unknown or suspicious extensions, add-ons, and plug-ins. The same applies software of this kind installed on the operating system.
If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
