What is routgpushs[.]com?
Similar to procontent.me, exclusivenotifications.com, push4free.com and innumerous others, routgpushs[.]com is a rogue website. It operates by redirecting visitors to unreliable/hazardous sites and presenting them with similarly dangerous content.
Most users access routgpushs[.]com inadvertently; by being redirected from other compromised websites or by having it opened by PUAs (potentially unwanted applications) present in their device. It is noteworthy, that said apps do not need express user permission to invade their devices.
Once installed, they cause unauthorized redirects, deliver intrusive advertisement campaigns and track data.
Rogue sites mostly spread through redirects caused by invasive adverts or by PUAs opening new browser tabs/windows. The first action that such websites (routgpushs[.]com as well) take is checking visitor's IP address and inferring their geolocation from it. The latter is key to determining further behavior.
It either redirects users elsewhere or begins force-feeding them certain content. Regardless of how exactly routgpushs[.]com acts, what must be stressed is that visitors to it are guaranteed to encounter dubious and possibly malicious matter. This website also uses browser notifications, which if allowed - deliver invasive ad campaigns.
Advertisements of this sort are deemed a threat, due to the hazardous sites they redirect to, as well as their ability to execute scripts in order to download/install PUAs without user consent. As previously mentioned, unwanted applications can generate redirects and run intrusive ad campaigns.
By employing a wide variety of tools, they enable third party graphical content. Therefore, the adverts that PUAs deliver can seriously affect browsing experience by limiting speed and site visibility. These undesirable apps are also infamous for their data-tracking capabilities.
Gathering intel on users' browsing activity (URLs visited, pages viewed, search engine history and similar) - they can find traces of personal information (IP address, geolocation and info on user identity). What must be understood, is that PUAs sell this data to third parties, this way generating revenue for their developers.
Hence, presence of rogue applications in one's device can compromise system and browser integrity, as well as lead to serious privacy issues (even culminate in identity theft). All PUAs should be removed immediately upon detection.

PUAs are often designed to appear legitimate and harmless. Additionally, they are promoted as having "useful" features. Although these promises might sound inviting, it should be known that any listed features are nonfunctional.
The only purpose these apps serve is to create profit for their designers, everything else is merely a disguise to trick users into installing them. After successful infiltration, PUAs cause redirects, deliver invasive ad campaigns and gather vulnerable information.
How did adware install on my computer?
In broad terms, most PUA invasions are caused by user inexperience and carelessness. Rogue applications spread through intrusive ads executing scripts to autonomously download/install them. By visiting untrustworthy websites and clicking various advertisements therein - users put themselves at risk.
PUAs also proliferate through install pack/bundles. "Bundling" is a deceitful marketing method used by undesired application developers, by which regular programs are bundled together with unwanted applications. Ignoring terms, step-skipping, using pre-set options when installing - makes it easy for undesired apps to get installed onto devices.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Knowledge, attentiveness and caution are crucial to ensuring system and user safety. It is highly recommended to only use official and verified sources to download software (ideally, through direct download links). It is ill-advised to use P2P (peer-to-peer) sharing networks and other third party downloaders; as programs from such are more likely to be riddled with PUAs.
When installing software it is advised to read terms and possible options, use "Custom/Advanced" settings and opt-out/decline any supplementary applications/features. Browsing habits should include avoiding suspicious sites and refraining from clicking various advertisements.
Since intrusive adverts are often designed to appear legitimate and harmless - it can be difficult to spot them. However, their illegitimacy may be proven by the untrustworthy websites they redirect to (for example, pornographic, adult-dating, gambling and similar).
Should users encounter such ads/redirects - it is highly recommended to inspect their device and remove any suspect applications and/or browser extensions/plug-ins. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
