Eliminate browser redirects to markably.info

What is markably[.]info?
markably[.]info is a rogue website that shares similarities with ughitilagu.info, videosp.pro, feedmedia.me, and dozens of other similar sites. Once opened, markably[.]info delivers dubious content and/or redirects users to other rogue sites.
Visitors often arrive at this site inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive advertisements displayed on other dubious websites. In addition, PUAs typically infiltrate computers without permission. As well as causing redirects, they deliver intrusive advertisements and gather information relating to browsing activity.
Following infiltration, PUAs start force-opening new browser tabs/windows and redirecting to markably[.]info, which then immediately determines the user's geolocation by checking the Internet Protocol (IP) address. This is to ascertain whether the user should be provided with certain content or redirected further (markably[.]info sometimes does both).
In any case, users might end up encountering malicious content. Thus, visiting markably[.]info could lead to various system infections. The same applies to intrusive advertisements. PUAs deliver coupons, banners, pop-ups, and other similar advertisements.
These often redirect to dubious websites and can even run scripts designed to download other potentially unwanted/malicious apps. Therefore, clicking them might also result in system infections. Note that intrusive advertisements are delivered using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site.
Therefore, they often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. Potentially unwanted applications are also notorious for information tracking. They usually gather IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar information relating to browsing activity.
Collected data typically includes personal details that developers share with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals). These people generate revenue by misusing private information. Therefore, data tracking might lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. We strongly recommend that you uninstall all potentially unwanted applications immediately.

There are dozens of PUAs online, all of which are virtually identical. By offering "useful features", they attempt to attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users to install. In fact, PUAs have just one purpose: to generate revenue for the developers.
They deliver no real value for regular users. Rather than enabling the functions promised, PUAs cause unwanted redirects, deliver advertisements, and gather information, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience and posing threat to your privacy and computer safety.
How did adware install on my computer?
Some unwanted applications have official download websites, however, most are proliferated using intrusive advertisements and a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" (stealth installation of third party applications together with regular software).
Developers hide "bundled" applications within various sections (usually "Custom" or "Advanced" settings) of the download/installation processes.
Furthermore, many users often rush these procedures, skip steps, and click advertisements without understanding the possible consequences. In doing so, they expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The main reasons for computer infections are careless behavior and lack of knowledge. The key to safety is caution. Therefore, pay close attention when browsing the Internet and downloading/installing software. Bear in mind that intrusive advertisements usually seem legitimate, however, they usually redirect to dubious websites (gambling, adult dating, pornography, etc.).
If you encounter these ads/redirects frequently, uninstall all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. Furthermore, closely analyze each window of the download/installation dialogs using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings. Dismiss all additionally-included applications and offers to download/install them.
Download programs from official sources only, using direct download links. Third party downloaders/installers often include rogue apps, and thus such tools should never be used. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
