What is press2continue[.]com?
Similar to deloplen.com, checkpost.space, pro-news.net, and many others, press2continue[.]com is a rogue website designed to redirect users to other dubious sites and deliver dubious content.
Research shows that users generally visit websites such as press2continue[.]com inadvertently - they are redirected by intrusive advertisements (delivered by other rogue sites) or potentially unwanted applications (PUAs). Furthermore, PUAs often infiltrate computers without permission.
In addition to causing redirects, they generate intrusive advertisements and record user-system information relating to web browsing habits.
Following infiltration, potentially unwanted applications start opening new browser tabs/windows and redirect users to press2continue[.]com. This site then immediately determines the visitor's geolocation by checking the Internet Protocol (IP) address.
This is to ascertain whether to redirect users to dubious websites or deliver certain content (press2continue[.]com sometimes does both). Users might be presented with malicious content and, thus, redirects to and from press2continue[.]com can result in various system infections.
Unwanted apps also deliver intrusive advertisements, such as coupons, banners, pop-ups, and similar. These ads can redirect to malicious websites and even run scripts designed to download/install additional unwanted/malicious applications.
Therefore, clicking them can also lead to system infections. intrusive ads are usually delivered using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, they often conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. PUAs are also notorious for information tracking.
Apps of this type usually gather IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other information, which usually includes personal details. In addition, developers share the data with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse private information to generate revenue in malicious ways.
Therefore, information tracking might lead to various privacy issues, including identity theft. We strongly recommend that you uninstall all potentially unwanted applications immediately.

The internet is full of potentially unwanted applications, all of which are virtually identical. By offering many "useful features", PUAs attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users to install. In fact, these apps deliver no real value for regular users.
PUAs cause unwanted redirects, deliver advertisements, and gather information, thereby diminishing the browsing experience and posing a significant threat to your privacy and computer safety.
How did adware install on my computer?
Unwanted applications typically infiltrate computers without permission, since developers proliferate them using a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" and intrusive advertisements. "Bundling" is essentially stealth installation of third party applications with regular software. Developers know that users often rush these procedures and skip steps.
Therefore, "bundled" apps are hidden behind "Custom/Advanced" settings (or other sections) of the download/installation processes. Users who carelessly rush these procedures and click advertisements often install unwanted apps inadvertently. In this way, users expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent this situation, be very cautious when browsing the Internet and downloading/installing software. Developers invest many resources into intrusive ad design, thereby making them seem legitimate. Once clicked, however, they redirect to dubious websites (gambling, adult dating, pornography, and similar).
If you encounter these ads/redirects frequently, remove all suspicious applications/browser plug-ins immediately. Furthermore, carefully analyze each window of the download/installation dialogs using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings. Opt-out of additionally-included programs and decline offers to download/install them.
You are advised to download software from official sources only (via direct download links). Third party downloaders/installers are often monetized using the "bundling" method (criminals promote unwanted applications). Thus, such tools should never be used.
The key to computer safety is caution. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.

How to avoid browser notification spam?
Internet users should be very skeptical when being asked to allow notifications. While this is a useful feature that allows you to receive timely news from websites you like, deceptive marketers frequently abuse it.
Only allow notifications from websites that you fully trust. For added security - use an anti-malware application with a real-time web browsing monitor to block shady websites that tries to trick you into allowing spam notifications. We recommend using Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows.
