Adoptimismyto.club POP-UP Redirect
Written by Tomas Meskauskas on (updated)
What is adoptimismyto.club?
adoptimismyto.club is a rogue website that is virtually identical to newpush.support, bodelen.com, mobnootiffy.com, and many others. The site displays various dubious content and redirects users to other dubious sites.
Research shows that many visitors arrive at adoptimismyto.club inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) or intrusive ads displayed on other rogue sites. Most PUAs infiltrate computers without users’ permission, cause redirects, deliver intrusive advertisements, and gather information relating to browsing activity.
Unwanted apps force-open new browser tabs/windows and redirect users to adoptimismyto.club. Depending on the user's geo-locations (which is determined by the IP address), adoptimismyto.club displays certain dubious content or redirects users to other dubious sites. In any case, users might end up encountering malicious content.
Therefore, redirects to and from adoptimismyto.club can lead to various system infections. Unwanted apps also deliver intrusive ads, such as banners, pop-ups, coupons, etc. These might also redirect to malicious websites and even execute scripts that download/install other PUAs (or even high-risk malware). Therefore, even a single click can result in system infections.
Furthermore, intrusive ads are delivered using tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, most conceal underlying content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience. Potentially unwanted applications are notorious for information tracking.
They usually gather IP addresses, website URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar information. Collected data usually includes personal details that developers share with third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse it to generate revenue.
Therefore, data tracking can lead to serious privacy issues or even identity theft. For these reasons, all potentially unwanted applications must be uninstalled immediately.

There are hundreds of PUAs, all of which are virtually identical. By offering various "useful features", developers attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users to install, however, few unwanted apps provide the functionality promised. These applications typically have only one purpose: to generate revenue for the developers.
Therefore, rather than giving any real value for regular users, unwanted apps cause unwanted redirects, gather information, and display intrusive advertisements.
How did adware install on my computer?
Some PUAs have official download websites, however, most infiltrate computers without users’ permission, since developers promote them using "bundling" and "intrusive advertising" methods. "Bundling" is essentially stealth installation of third party applications together with regular (in most cases, free) software.
Developers are not honest enough to adequately disclose installation of unwanted applications. Therefore, "bundled" PUAs are hidden within "Custom/Advanced" settings (or other sections) of the download/installation processes. Furthermore, users often rush these procedures and skip steps.
In addition, users click various advertisements without understanding the possible consequences. This behavior often leads to inadvertent installation of unwanted applications. In this way, many users expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
Lack of knowledge and careless behavior are the main reasons for computer infections and the key to computer safety is caution. Therefore, pay close attention when browsing the internet and downloading/installing software. Remember that developers invest many resources into intrusive ad design, thereby making them seem legitimate.
Once clicked, however, they redirect to dubious websites (gambling, adult dating, pornography, etc.) If you experience these ads/redirects, immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. Furthermore, carefully analyze each step of the download/installation processes and opt-out of all additionally-included programs.
We advise you to download software from official sources only, using direct download links, since most third party downloaders/installers are monetized by promoting ("bundling") PUAs. If your computer is already infected with rogue applications, we recommend running a scan with Combo Cleaner Antivirus for Windows to automatically eliminate them.
