What is redirecting.zone?
Identical to nametraff.com, goldoffer.online, and many others, redirecting.zone is a rogue site designed to redirect users to various other dubious websites.
Research shows that many users visit redirecting.zone inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) that infiltrate systems without permission. Research shows that, as well as causing redirects, PUPs deliver intrusive advertisements, gather sensitive information and, in some cases, run unwanted processes in the background.
Following infiltration, potentially unwanted programs open new browser tabs/windows and redirect to redirecting.zone, which, in turn, causes several (usually 2-3) successive redirects to other dubious sites. There is a high probability that at least one will contain malicious content. Therefore, visiting redirecting.zone might lead to high-risk computer infections.
Potentially unwanted programs often deliver intrusive advertisements. To achieve this, they employ tools that enable placement of third party graphical content on any site. Therefore, displayed ads often conceal underlying website content, thereby diminishing the browsing experience.
Furthermore, these advertisements commonly lead to malicious websites and even run scripts that download/install malware. Therefore, even a single click might result in high-risk computer infections. Another significant downside is information tracking.
Research shows that potentially unwanted programs continually gather IP addresses, URLs visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other information that contains personal details. Be aware that PUP developers later sell the collected data to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals) who misuse the information to generate revenue.
This can cause serious privacy issues. Furthermore, potentially unwanted programs often mine cryptocurrencies or perform other unwanted background processes. In this way, PUPs misuse system resources without permission, thereby significantly diminishing overall system performance. For these reasons, we strongly advise you to uninstall all PUPs immediately.

All potentially unwanted programs are very similar. By delivering fake promises to provide "useful features" (e.g., anti-virus, file conversion, system optimization, and so on), potentially unwanted programs attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users to install.
These apps are designed only to generate revenue for the developers. Rather than delivering any real value, PUPs pose a direct threat to your privacy and Internet browsing safety.
How did adware install on my computer?
Research shows that some PUPs have official download/promotion websites. Despite this, most infiltrate systems without users' consent. The reasons for this are the careless behavior and lack of knowledge of many users.
Developers proliferate PUPs using the aforementioned intrusive ads and a deceptive marketing method called "bundling" (stealth installation of third party applications together with regular software/apps).
Developers do not adequately disclose installation of potentially unwanted programs - they hide them within various sections (e.g., "Custom/Advanced" settings) of the download/installation processes. Many users rush these processes and skip steps. In addition, they often click advertisements. This behavior often leads to inadvertent installation of potentially unwanted programs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
To prevent this situation, be very cautious when browsing the Internet and, especially when downloading/installing software. Carefully analyze each window of the download/installation dialogs using the "Custom" or "Advanced" settings. Opt-out of all additionally-included programs and decline offers to download/install them.
We strongly recommend that you download your applications from official sources only using direct download links, since criminals monetize third party downloaders/installers using the "bundling" method. Be aware that intrusive advertisements might look legitimate, but are distinguishable, since most lead to gambling, adult dating, pornography, and other dubious websites.
If you are continually redirected to dubious websites, immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser plug-ins. The key to computer safety is caution.
