Developed by Mindspark Interactive Network, TelevisionFanatic is a rogue application claiming to allow users to watch various TV shows directly from the browser. Initially, this functionality may seem legitimate and useful, however, TelevisionFantastic infiltrates systems without consent.
In addition, this app stealthily modifies web browser settings and continually monitors Internet browsing activity. For these reasons, TelevisionFantastic is categorized as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and a browser hijacker.
Following successful infiltration, TelevisionFantastic hijacks Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, assigning the new tab URL, homepage, and default search engine options to hp.myway.com. These changes may not seem significant, however, users are unable to revert them.
TelevisionFantastic automatically reassign browser settings when attempts are made to change them.
