Window Frame Ads

What is Window Frame?
Window Frame is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) identical to Tide Search, Search Voyage, Steel Cut, and many other dubious applications. The developers (SuperWeb LLC) claim that Window Frame significantly improves the web browsing experience by providing a number of 'valuable functions'.
These claims are merely attempts to give the impression of legitimate software. Window Frame often infiltrates systems without users’ permission. Furthermore, this bogus application continually monitors web browsing activity and generates intrusive online advertisements. For these reasons, Window Frame is classed as adware.
This PUP delivers interstitial, transitional, full-page, pop-up, coupon, price comparison, banner, search, and a number of other intrusive ads. All are displayed using a 'virtual layer' and, thus, none originate from users' visited websites. Third party advertisements often conceal underlying web content, thereby significantly diminishing the browsing experience.
Furthermore, some lead to dubious websites often containing malicious content. Therefore, clicking them risks further adware or malware infections. Window Frame also records IP addresses, unique identifier numbers, website visited, pages viewed, search queries, and other similar information that might be personally identifiable.
SuperWeb LLC shares this gathered data with third parties who misuse private data to generate revenue, thereby causing serious privacy issues or even identity theft. You are strongly advised to uninstall Window Frame adware immediately.
Window Frame Privacy Policy statement regarding data collection:
We only share or sell your non-public personal information with non-affiliated third parties when we believe doing so is permitted by you or authorized by this Privacy Policy. In addition, the Company may share your personal information with our parent, subsidiary or affiliate companies without restriction.
Research shows that SuperWeb LLC intentionally releases identical applications under different names to prevent detection by legitimate anti-virus and anti-spyware suites.
This company aims to generate as much revenue as possible and, therefore, its products do not provide any real value for users - Window Frame, and other similar applications, collect personally identifiable information (which is later shared with third parties to generate revenue) and deliver intrusive online advertisements (via the 'Pay Per Click’ [PPC] advertising model).
Some also cause unwanted browser redirects, thereby generating traffic for certain sites.
How did Window Frame install on my computer?
Window Frame is mostly distributed using a deceptive software marketing method called 'bundling' - stealth installation of potentially unwanted programs with regular (usually legitimate) software.
Developers hide PUPs within the 'Custom/Advanced' settings of the download/installation processes, since many users do not pay enough attention during these stages. Skipping these steps usually leads to inadvertent installation of potentially unwanted programs.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The key to computer safety is caution. Never rush the download or installation processes. Closely study these procedures using the 'Custom' or 'Advanced' settings. Furthermore, all additionally-included programs should be immediately cancelled.
